Pests are cool

Why are people such huge pussy homosexuals when it comes to "pests" in the house and feeling the need to murder them for harmlessly existing?
OK, creatures like bedbugs and mosquitoes can cause physical harm and thus should be eradicated. But what the hell is a mouse, a rat, a lizard, a spider, a house centipede or even a roach even going to do to you? Take tiny bites of your food? Just buy a new loaf of bread, you poorgay. Besides 99% of the time they won't even come unless you live in filth and attract them on purpose. Seriously, what's wrong with having free pets?

    Chew your wires
    Tear up your insulation
    Defecate everywhere
    Ruin food
You aren't being contrarian, pests are pests for a reason. The only exception I make are spiders. They're bros.

If you had your own babies or small children you would think differently. There is no way a mentally healthy parent is allowing pestilence near their child at such a critical point in their life like that.

Rodents will bring diseases, eat your food, shit and piss on your food, chew everything and even set your house on fire.

It's not fun hearing rodents running and chewing wires in the walls.

    >for harmlessly existing?

    >mouse, a rat, or even a roach
droppings in your food, carries fleas and carries various illnesses
    >a lizard, a spider, a house centipede
    not pests

Apparently house centipedes are tiny murder machines that obliterate pest insects even harder than spiders

It's so obvious that you never had mice in your house.
They chew your wooden furniture, chew your wires, eat your food, make noise at night and cover the pavement with surprisingly big turds.

I like co-existing with other creatures in the house, particularly insects and arachnids
-- I don't want rodents or other feral mammals in the house, only because of their droppings accumulating and really getting filthy.
-- Roaches I'm kind of half OK with, in that I like them but don't want them multiplying in the house, so I pick them up and release them either outside or in the garage.
-- Spiders are totally fine, even widows are good. House centipedes have the run of the house, totally welcome. Very rare to have a natural wasp nest turn up indoors, but that would be extremely cool

Mice, rats, and roaches poop everywhere and spread diseases. Mice and rats chew your things up. They all breed fast and infest your home in no time. You said it yourself. They're attracted to filth. Why would I want something attracted to filth (and also filthy themselves) in my house? They're nasty.

I mostly agree with you but mice and rats chew wires which can get your house burned down. Also there's seriously people who think lizards are pests? I know normalgays can really stupid when it comes to animals but I've never heard of that.

Also I have had a salamander in my house before and tried to help the beast out but he wouldn't cooperate. I gave up and left him in the closet and figured he found his way out one way or another. Salamanders too are free pest control

This. Pests by definition bring in disease or damage the home itself by nibbling on wires/burrowing holes. Friendly salamanders and spiders in your house are not pests.

      You people have house salamanders??

Not just tropical, plenty in the southern Midwest during the warmer months. I see them outside all the time in spring and summer - toads too

I had two tiny lizards get in last year but managed to catch them. I've found the mummies of a few tree frogs over the years that weren't as lucky. Pic is a gallon-sized pitcher for scale.

Are you sure you don't mean gecko.
Your house is way to dry for an amphibian.

toads are amphibians and they dont need a lot of water, same goes for a lot of salamanders

They will still shrivel and die if their skin dries out entirely

A pest is any animal or plant harmful to humans or human concerns. The term is particularly used for creatures that damage crops, livestock, and forestry or cause a nuisance to people, especially in their homes
