It is really frustrating to be an animal & nature enjoyer in Western Europe. I go Wauf in the woods every week during spring/summer and i have seen pretty much everything Wauf related in my aera, it is mostly deers, boars and sometimes fox and hares. No diversity in reptiles and amphibians. Things like wolves, lynx or wildcats are only seen through camera trap and it happens maybe once a year.

      Well kinda true, I'm from
BR and live in DE and biodiversity is noticeably vastly different, but I've been seeing some nice mamals, birds, frogs and salamanders we don't have in BR, so that to me is very exotic. It was really cool to see a fallow deer in person for the first time. The grass is always greener I guess.

We don't have hundreds of amphibian species like tropical countries, but we make up for it by having the fire salamander, which is the most beautiful and distinctive species on Earth.

I've been watching this nestcam for the past week. The little hummers are now close to leaving the nest.

Why do they like fighting each other so much? I have a feeder and they spend most of their time fighting other hummers getting close to it.

hummingbirds require a shitload of calories for their body size and nectar is kind of a shitty source of calories. So they bully other birds off their food source.

Only rats and pests thrive in Europe. Hummingbirds do not tolerate that.

Too cold. Flowers are not good. It's the reason why there are no honeyeaters in Europe either.

        >Too cold.
north america is on average far colder. Southern Europe has the climate of California. Only problem climate wise would likely be the fact that they couldn't migrate south of the equator over the sahara if they crossed the Mediterranean
        >Flowers are not good
        we can work on that

          Nothing.
Other Anon is either really stupid or trolling.
Europe has native honey bees. I know of at least black bees, and I'm just a dumb American who's not even in interested in bees

no, you're just ignorant. Hummingbirds are generally highly specialized on a very small selection of flowers, the flowers have to not only produce nectar but also be the right shape for the hummingbird to properly feed on them. So you would need to plant invasive flowers first then introduce hummingbirds.

Yea they prefer long tubular flowers with lots of nectar

It's not a matter of preference, hummingbirds exclusively feed on those flowers that coevolved with them.
Since Europe has no hummingbirds, it has no flowers they can feed on either.

            Hummingbirds require special flowers.
