    They don't lay 40 eggs.
They lay 1 egg a day and after 12 days the hatch rate is at 70%. After 15 days it's at 40%. After that it drops into single digits.
The flock matron pulls all the hatchlings into one brood and all the hens raise them together.
It's like "it takes a village" in the natural world.

Always funny to see how we don't even bother to apply our own wisdom to ourselves. We exempt ourselves from the "rules" and allow our own self destruction and suffering. Like how if you eliminate predators from an area, you get dumbass herbivores overbreeding to the point they eat everything and die because there's too many of them for the vegetation to sustain.

no, most birds do not taste that good, chicken is the only good one, duck is too oily and turkey is digusting

Chicken is literally the worst one out of the listed. Just learn how to properly cook a duck

im am literally complaining that duck is too fricking greasy, because it is, duck is really fatty, and if i wanted that theres better meat like beef or pork

Wild ducks are less greasy than farm ducks, but just cook your farm duck on a trivet you fricking brainlet.

              yeah bread is honestly awful
you should really drop all starches and grains but bread is by far the worst for how pervasive it is in a western diet

if you're asian then rice is the devil instead
if you're italian then its not just bread but pasta too

They do have predators, though. I got around 20 ducks in my lake and every now and then a hawk or eagle comes down and kills one of them by grabbing the neck. They also grab the ducklings off the water.

Yeah. Duck confit is great in general. The breast, specifically, is a classic.
