My Venus flytrap

I bought myself a Venus flytrap but I live in northern europe so I can't see any flies coming close to it. How do I have fun with this plant?

Rain doesn't have calcium in it. Calcium is bad for your venus fly plant. Your tapwater probably has calcium in it, but the amount depends on where the water is from.

    Collect rainwater.

It doesn't matter if your tapwater is clean, carnivorous plants need distilled water.

Are you trying to tell me this gay effeminate plants can survive on distilled water only? How would that even work in nature.

My father owned a few and sure as hell he didn't bother. You're either trolling or moronic. I'm sorry to break it out to you but tap water is not poisonous everywhere in the world.

They are carnivorous because the soil they grow in has no nutrients, therefore it's easy to kill it because it basically has no concept of "absorbing too much x".
Some tap water could be ok, but the way to find out is giving it to a fly trap and seeing if it dies.

If someone tells you that you shouldn't throw rocks at windows, you wouldn't counter with "actually I found a rock that's smooth and light enough that it doesn't shatter windows, so it's fine".

Reminder that you can't water it with tap water. It needs to be the special purified shit.

        >Using pure water that is low in dissolved solids is essential to the health of a Venus flytrap. Tap water in most of the world will not be suitable for Venus flytraps. Using tap water on your Venus flytrap can quickly lead to poor health and death.

Too much work. I won't use pure water. I'll continue to use tap water. I don't give a shit. Let's see if it can survive. I can't be bothered to distill water for a damn plant even if it's my favorite plant

Tap water in Scandinavian countries doesn't need to be purified because it's already as clean as it can get. It's the purest water in the world.

                >doesn’t know what TDS is

I guess I'll be testing that on my peenus Venus. I'll make sure to update you guys!

Don’t bother, usually watering it with tap once kills them. Was it really that difficult to obtain distilled water?

I don't think you understand what distilled water actually is you dumb meatball vendor. The cleanest tap water in the world isn't the same as distilled water.
