Larvae love

Does anyone else here find larvae strangely adorable? They're so soft and vulnerable... They always eat the food I give them as well.

I can't wrap my head around the fact this is the same species as an adult beetle.

Mealworms are the cutest little motherfrickers ever. When I listen to them eat, it's ASMR to the ear.

Yeah when they're big like that i don't get the "ew maggots/bugs in food" instinct and just look like cute aliens, their adult form s are pretty neat too.

Yes but I hate their heads. I saw one of those eastern hercules beetle grubs writhing around on a hiking path once. They're pretty weird feeling

I could see that, I always think they're gonna bite the shit out of me. Still cute tho.

Why of course, larvae are the best. I love larvae. One could almost say that they remind me of myself, heh...

No i find them repulsive. There's a reason humans are hardwired into hating tiny things that wriggle in slime

He's not tiny though, he's a big boy! And he's not slimy. You're thinking of maggots which are actually disgusting. Beetle larvae just dig around in the dirt and eat dead plant matter until they're ready to transform into a beetle.

      What’s the reason?

because maggots are just plain gross and live on decay and disease

if I absolutely had to, I could probably get myself to eat one
I'd have to be literally staving for days though
        >what about if you were on fear factor
        nope, not eating for money

Again not a maggot. He's basically a glorified worm, not even close to those shit eating fetid parasites. I could eat it as long as it wasn't whole, if you cut it up it'd just be oddly textured bites of protein. I feel like unless you grow up eating bugs you will always find whole ones disgusting.

They say that grubs are actually pretty tasty. Like buttered toast oddly enough.

          "Gross" is subjectif

why would you have a child with that condition and then give him an actual goblin/gnome name. was it trolling? spite? a meme gone too far?
