Homotherium did, but your source says that Smilodon didn't, so the other anon's post still stands. >Highlights-"Smilodon would show visible upper canines when the mouth was closed." >Conclusion- "In the case of Smilodon, with reduced flange and a less tight fit, it is likely that the upper canines would be exposed in life, even with a closed mouth."
You can't even spell dumb right. Your entire post was a massive cope.
another perfect comparison of a dinosaur with lips and gums vs. dinosaur with no lips. I was able to observe this shit when I was five years old when paleofags and "professional scientists" are apparently still unable to.
don't be dense bruh. disney dinosaur carno has the exact same shit going on with its mouth. the JP rex has similar lip movements in the jurassic world movies but they're not as pronounced.
the king kong v-rex and the indominus rex don't have lips. the teeth are set directly into the top of the jaw like a crocodile. the JP rex is not like this.
>JP t-rex is still the most natural looking one
It is not. Looks like a dryed out zombie and has no lips. >INB4 some retard aspie says reptiles can't have lips because lips is a specific anatomical term. It is not.

also those aren't regular teeth, they're tusks. They had to change to be dried out like that.

Seems weird since in all these cases only a single pair of teeth are generally exposed due to being elongated and all the others are not. I mean its not like T. rex has elongated teeth/tusks/fangs

dinosaurs were not 1:1 identical to modern animals, mainly due to them being so diverse and overwhelming of niches ruled by mammals, completely different kinds of animals. for all we know, t rex could have had exposed or partially exposed teeth that it would have shed regularly (I think there's even evidence of t rex regularly shedding teeth?) so the jury is still out. personally, lips make sense but a few teeth poking out a la you drawing dinosaur art when you were little? not too unreasonable.

pretty sure t.rex replaced it’s teeth every two years iirc. not sure if that’s fast enough to justify having exposed teeth.

We actually use the term a lot in dinosaur anatomy. Particularly in describing teeth where we talk about LabioLingual Tooth Width. Which means literally lips to tongue tooth width.
we don't know if they had lips but we use them as a landmark anyways. We also don't technically know if they had tongues. I mean they had tongue muscles since they had a hyoid bone, but for all we know the tongue may have been very short or attached to the bottom of the mouth rather than mobile as in most animals today.
Sabertooths
Sabretooth cats? Quinkana? Guy from picrel (who can easily live without a water environment)?
Like, there was even a recent officil study on Homotherium showing that it had lips:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0277379122001020
So you're twice as dum

You forgot about the tasmanian devil and Thylosmilus.

It is, but not the way you think.
in anatomy both pussies and faces have lips. A few other organs as well. Also fish have lips even though they're not mammals or humans.

Maybe because none of the modern archosaurs have lips? Simple as, speculfag.

Prehistoric Planet's T. rex is by far the most natural looking one dude, the only weird thing about it is the fuzz
I don't even notice the fuzz when I first watch that.
