Don't they basically ruin the water for anything that isn't a hippo or a hippo's ass bacteria

Well no shit, though it's hilariously inept they took this long to decide. They're not going to get them all, I think. If four turned into several dozen in this short of a span, with access to literally the entire amazon, and no predators... Hippos exist in the Amazon now. Probably not enough to fuck with the ecosystem if there's a shoot on sight order, but there are literally uncontacted tribal groups still living in chunks of the Amazon, you think the governments of South America will be able to find and kill all these hippos?

    Nah.

its not ineptitude they didnt kill them already, its animal rights activists, because the foreign dangerous animal needs protection, killing them is extremely cheap and produces a lot of money for the government, people would love to hunt them and would pay you to do so, but catching and castrating is the worst option because thats really expensive and they couldnt kick the can down the road anymore

this is gonna be funny when
      >turns out the hippos were actually enriching the ecosystem
      >its gonna turn into a sterile shithole again
      >woops uh.. can we have more of them hippos africa please?

no, theyre actually harmful to the environment because they cause deadly algae blooms

I've always feel a little bad when foreign species get exterminated. They were up against all odds, carved their way into a completely alien ecosystem, and then people just decide to kill them all.
Like that one homosexual in California who made it his life mission to exterminate Italian wall lizards from one specific neighborhood. Just leave them alone holy shit.

Don't they basically ruin the water for anything that isn't a hippo or a hippo's ass bacteria

        >muh algae blooms
Still no actual proof of that, that's all just fear mongering. Hippos probably do more good than bad with their grazing + creating pathways through underwater vegetation. I hate you "muh environment" fags who don't realize our current ecosystems are nothing like they used to be because humans killed off all the megafauna.

kys these animals shouldn't be allowed to reach the amazonian river, otherwise it become impossible to get them out of there. They would destroy important ecosystems.

They should just kill them all.

Good. South America already has animals filling the niche these hippos do, they're called manatees.
Hippos cause tio much destruction to their habitat.

Chemically. You can't sedate them because like horses if they lie down for a second they instantly die. That's why it's hippophobia for fear of horses.

Some will get sterilized, others deported, and some killed.
Meaning there will be a handful of hibbos left in Columbia but they'll die out in one final generation.
      Unless
      Of course
