Is there anything interesting to be done with a bunch of live snails?

Result of maintenance of my celery patch. Is there anything that these fel vermin could be used for? Like for example you can make great fly bait out of them (a teaspoon of vinegar, a little water, leave it in the sun for a few days). Although that stuff will also attract meat flies and wasps, which aren't really harmful to humans. Any suggestions?

OK, OP after your explanation of these particular snails and looking them up, if they're not safely edible or disposable, I don't know anything useful you can use them for. I'm like more concerned about the fluke parasites remaining alive if you just bury them, so there must be some way of destroying them completely, to kill the parasites.

I guess if you're allowed to incinerate, they could be cremated. I'm new to that design of shell, so I thought it was cool but it looks paper thin like any garden snail so not very useful as any kind of crafting material unless it's resin-stabilized, but maybe there is some sterilized mineral residue left after burning that could be used in the soil.

I like most animals and inverts, even some of the invasive ones, but this is one of those that can be genocided without shame or guilt. These are not OK to keep nor let loose.

They are not invasive no, the problem is that before the city grew so much and dking destroyed all the forested areas around they were getting controlled by predators. Mainly trushes and black ground beetles. Now with habitat destruction combined with my deepshit neighbors using way too much pesticides for their tiny gardens that killed half of the beetles and the fking cats that they constantly feed obliterating the bird population (I swear one of these days I will poison both the cats and the neighbors), the snail population is out of control, there will be literally thousands of them in every section of my yard, eating all of my celery (and everything else really). I'm literally having to personally breed and release mantises and devil's coach horse beetles to control the various pests in the yard (out of hundreds I release in spring and early summer, I'm happy if at least several survive the winter).

They refused to do that, even if it is a part of the woods that OP is not near.

For people suggesting to release/eat/feed to animals.

Here's a short list of good stuff that can result from that.

Schistosoma parasites - if you're lucky, your liver will fail before your dick does
Helminths - commonly transmitted by gay anal sex.
      Paragonimiasis - kills brain.
Fascioliasis - makes you piss blood.
Clonorchis - this one is not that bad actually. Just causes diarrhea.

Pls don't eat or feed to your pets random snails you find outside. Eventually something bad will happen.

We get the tiny i inch snails mostly in South Georgia(USA). The biggest snails we get are 2 inch carnivores. To be honest, I never saw a wild snail here until 2020-2021, after that there were tons of them. 2019 is the first time I saw their shells. Make of that what you will

Once they appear in an area, there's no getting rid of them. Completely omnivorous so will eat anything, resistant to pesticides, breeds like crazy, and resilient as hell. Unlucky.

Would releasing praying mantises cull the snails? I heard they were incredibly good as pest control, apart from the fact that they'll also destroy bees.

Not the snails but definitely the flies, leafeaters and locust. Also as an added bonus, the young nymphs are so precious and amusing. Watching them hunt aphids and springtails is just really appealing to me

They are alot more hardy than people give them credit, but they still have trouble breeding naturally in my area (not for the lack of prey tho, can attest to that). The winters are quite harsh so not many clutches even survive untill the spring, even more die due to pollution and pesticides (mantises are quite sensitive to those). It is what it is.

What sort of climate are you in? Between Chinese and European mantis alone, I can't think of a climate with adequate prey where they wouldn't thrive. They're both invasive but have already invaded everywhere so who cares

Euro Mantises should be semi-native to there, but definitely die off each winter. Probably economical to just buy some egg sacks every spring

Not an option, European mantises are not kept as pets. They are easy to take care of, but don't live very long and will only accept live food. They are also not very handlable as they A. can fly, and B. will likely hurt themselves if handled improperly, and most importantly C. They don't live very long. I had one almost make it to 2 years (he was unusually thin and didn't eat much, RIP Markus), but most start dying after 6-10 months.

wtf else would I do with hundreds of live mantis nymphs you absolute sperg? Each ootheca can have up to a hundred eggs and they all hatch simultaneously. Not to mention the nymphs are cannibalistic and have to be separated after some time.

Yes releasing them is right. The response that was talking about keeping them as pets was moronic. Sorry about the turkey thing, roaches are only good for feeding mantises tbh

Had a pet mantis, she accepted dead food. You just have to hold whatever you're feeding it (cricket, worm, bug you just killed) right in front of its mouth with tongs and it'll start chewing and it'll grab it.
Mine almost made it to two years, and there was a harsh winter where I couldn't get bugs so I had to feed her stuff like cat food. They're far more resistant than they appear.

Ye kinda true. I fed some of mine dead (frozen) flies but I literally had to tie them to a string and dangle them in front of the mantises. They would never accept anything from tweezers.

Nope, I'm not freeing an agricultural pest and a disease spread vector. Also I don't even mind the big brown garden snails (the ones you make escargot out of), as that ar e pretty neat, but these little fks are beyond redemption. Tewy breed extremely fast and if not controlled during spring will become a menace in the summer. The usual anti snail stuff doesn't even kill them (destroys slugs, but not these guys).

These aren't regular garden snails anon. These are WHITE garden snails. They carry a billion parasites, have the nutritional value of soggy cardboard, taste and smell terrible. Even the French won't eat these, and neither should anyone else.
