Why aren't you doing research or conservation work? Marine biology is hardly a glamorous field and the pay is shit, but there's usually always work counting salmon or some shit.

Get a job with a survey firm, if possible. There are always pipelines and wind farms and shit getting built, and they have to survey the area for animals, artifacts and soil before they can build. I imagine if you diversify your skills a bit, you can get work doing stuff like hiking out to rivers, taking samples and telling the bigwigs "you can build here, it won't frick up the fishing."
Wish I could help with more specific companies, but the jobs do exist. Look into offshore wind, too

You can't do survey if you're not a registered biologist and either have your own surveying company or work for municipalities. Fricking imbecile

    >pick a major with zero demand in the job field
    >there are zero jobs for you
    >OMG HOW HAPEN????
Marine biology is an academic field. If you want a career in it, you're going to basically spend your entire life either pursuing additional degrees or teaching, and that's ALL.

that's wrong. Marine biologist are routinely hired by acquacolturing enterprises, fisheries, aquariums, and municipalities. What is your field of expertise smartass? Forklift operator?

And you're still shit out of luck for a job because there's no openings because you picked a major teenage girls want to do because they think theyre going to spend their 9 to 5 playing with dolphins.

Oh big words from a rando scumbag that just likes to kick the dead horse from the OP. Easy to beat someone in the open while you don't even answer my question.
By the way, this job may not be appeasing but it pays well and i'm impervious to company shenanigans, i cannot be fired unless i do something really stupid. Try to find something better than that yourself at this day and age, butthole.

Your question is meaningless, I could have a PHD in cellular patholgy fornall the good it does you. Some rando (on an anonymous board, imagine that)'s shitty major doesnt make your shitty major any less of a shitty major.
Its also cute that you're now defending the job you made a thread to b***h about. You should probably stay teaching in high school, you're in good company with the rest of the histrionic teenage girls.

Just say what you do in your life, say it. I'm tired of you dodging my questions. Because apparently you are so better than me that you find in the right to criticize my field of work right? And not only you're an ignorant c**t that doesnt have the slightest idea of what marine biology encompasses, but you also have the gall to say that now i defend my job just because of you. Like i would give a shit about you. I give a shit that you insulted my personal fricking vocation you b***h, not you.

Did he insult teaching? Because that is your vocation. What's wrong with teaching anyway? Low stress, not very difficult, normal hours. Get a fishtank at home if you want to look at fish so bad

        >What is your field of expertise smartass? Forklift operator?
I know you're asking this in jest but I'll give you my personal anecdote anyway..
I have a liberal arts academic background. Worthless, I know, but I didn't pay for it and I actually got the job I was working to get before I even graduated. Fastforward a few years I realize I fricking hate what I had been working my whole life to achieve
        >high competition
        >pay sucks
        >overworked
        >etcetera
I was pretty devastated since I had worked to this goal since my early teens and am now hating my adult life.
I met a friend who turned me onto the unionized construction world.
I called them and skipped a bunch of steps because I'm smart and passed their fairly difficult entrance exams.
Got a $30k 8 week residential crash course in how to construction paid for by the union.
10 years later I'm laughing. I make enough running construction machines in 6-8months I can take a year off to spend with my family in our oceanside acreage.

My friend just told me about unions and construction. I did the legwork myself.

Give up on the idea of doing something related to your major and move on to greener pastures. A bullshit email job that pays decent and barely demands work ain't all that bad. Stop teaching. That's not good for you.

There are any number of white collar jobs like this. I got one without a degree. Just look for "fully remote" on a staffing company's website, I used Robert Half, and the job you get is probably one where you push cells around on a spreadsheet and send emails all day and can take a nap for two hours without anyone noticing. It's not exciting work but I have no commute, no one rides my ass, and the pay's not half bad. There are worse ways to make rent money.
