It's an Indian elephant, so it's a bit smaller, but it's still a 3 - 4 ton beast stepping on your head.

People forget how dexterous elephants are.

I've watched one play with a ball at my local zoo. They have great coordination and they have a great awareness and feel for where the balls is even if its underneath or behind them.
However they can't really turn well and while they're dexterous they still need to cope with the fact that they move like a tractor.
Most often it was forced to slowly back up over the ball instead of turning to look at it.

It doesn't have to turn around. It can kick you and break your arm and ribs at the same time.

The only thing you can do when facing an elephant is to run away and hope it doesn't follow you.

I'm not even sure how you think you're going to hurt it. It had tough skin and dense muscle tissue, and it's not like your arms are enough to reach around its neck for a strangle hold.

What can an elephant actually do though? If you hug its hind legs it can't reach you with its truck, and its too sluggish to get away while you repeatedly pommel it from behind. If you stand to the side of its hind legs then it won't even be able to hit you with a back kick. If it raises its leg to perform a stomp then all you have to do is back off until it finishes its slam, then move back in to continue punching.

      Hit you with its truck
      Trample you
      Kick you
      Squash you by rolling over
      Hit you with its tusks
      Stab you with its tusks
Grab you with its trunks and slowly impale you on its tusks

Africa needs to be depopulated back to 1800s levels. There shouldn't be more than a few million humans on the whole continent. Africa is rightfully elephant clay. Forget dogs, dolphins, chimps, birds or cephalapods. It is in the noble and majestic Elephant that we will finally find a peer in the animal kingdom.

Do you think people in your country would be ok dying because some other people think there's too much of you?

Same shit. And Africa would get aid of someone who hates the people that ordered their demise, and that would most likely trigger a world ending holocaust. Which, admittedly so, it would be good for some animals

People in my country are already reproducing at below replacement rate. My country is already on the path towards rewilding. The only problem with my country is the government and NGOs are hastily importing millions of people from Africa, thus delaying or thwarting a rewilded, prosperous, high trust future.

Not all of Africa, just the areas that include elephant habitats.
