I love animals, it's why I eat local meat when I can. It's why I'm planning on having some land and owning goats/poultry so I can supply my own dairy meat and eggs as much as possible.
The issue isn't animal products, the issue is overconsumption. Every issue a (normal) person may have with animal agriculture is specific to large-scale battery farming.
If you're just one of them schizophrenics who thinks that any kind of animal agriculture is inherently evil then you're too far gone to be saved. Sorry.

How do you explain the hundreds of thousands of vegan athletes and elders worldwide?

      https://i.imgur.com/jEYDT2d.jpg

Hey genius, they're already dead by the time you get their meat, you aren't a butcher.
Not consuming meat does not decrease the slaughter.

and this is where this vegan excuse also crumbles, if you became Vegan for the sole purpose that you don't want animals to die, then what do you want to do with them? What do you want to do with pigs? they are only used for the meat. Are you going to stop breeding them? releasing them into the wild?
Sounds like that's just advocating for extinction of domesticated species, which is also PRO DEATH

Are you familiar with the concept of supply and demand?

Do you think pigs were invented by humans for human consumption?

Same thing that's done with greyhounds when a state outlaws racing.
      >Are you going to stop breeding them?
Yes, obviously. We don't need to breed them,

Contrary to the intellectual simplicity of sheltered westoids, morality is more nuanced than

I'm not a vegan but I know there are various opinions.
Some people want to abolish animal husbandry entirely, others want to stop animal exploitation (mostly vegans) and some just want to stop animal murdering (mostly vegetarians).

I know pig manure makes a good fertilizer, they can find truffles and they have certainly other usages I dont know about.

The few species we're using as livestock are putting in danger the 6400 remaining mammal species.

This isn’t cause to go vegan but to advocate for peak resource efficiency

Any livestock fed grain are waste. Livestock evolved to eat waste, not be waste. Raising enough premium beef for each american to eat a cow a month is needless. They should be eating chaff, slop, and suburban lawn clippings loke they’re going to be slaughtered in a year anyways.

                Anonymous

Livestock are fed waste. The vegan argument that 'If animal ag wasn't a thing then plant ag would actually decrease as animals acthcually eat x% of harvest a year' is a blatant lie.
No sane farmer would ever feed his cows human-grade corn/grain etc. Livestock gets the straw, the chaff, the leftover bits humans don't eat. Yes, including 'premium' beef. 'Premium' beef at the moment literally just means grass-fed anyways.
The only places feeding their livestock ultra-fancy harvest are specialist places, like japanese farms raising wagyu beef on some fricking figs or some shit. Which, I agree, is unnecessary.
If animal agriculture ended, plant agriculture would have to work overtime to make up for it, basically. More land destroyed, more pesticides, more child labour in developing countries, etc.

Animals are in fact fed corn and soi because government subsidies make it nearly as cheap as waste but it fattens them up much faster.

Maybe not your yokel raised beef but CAFO cows? Absolutely. Don’t forget pasture is actually maintained as a crop or they just wipe the earth clean like australian ranchers
                >dingoes, which have been here for 5000 years, are an invasive species, because they eat my sheep -australia

                Anonymous

You prefer that food byproducts should be wasted instead? they are cheap because they are leftover from production moron, corn byproducts can be supplemented to grass fed diet, they should not be fed exclusively that
                >Don’t forget pasture is actually maintained as a crop or they just wipe the earth clean like australian ranchers
Livestock can be rotated on pasture to give the land a break to avoid pen tier conditions

The same purpose they served before humans started farming them, presumably. Living in small communal groups, digging in the ground for tubers, wallowing in mud.

There would obviously be fewer pigs in a vegan world, but I think if you were given the choice between a world where there were 100 trillion humans being tortured all the time, and only 1 million humans living happy, enriching lives, you would choose the latter. I don't see why it would be any different for pigs.

                Anonymous
