Boy Wauf almost has a big enough hate boner for cats as it does for pitbulls.
    >muh toxo
    >muh 6000000 dead birds oy vey
    >muh outdoor cat
I mean yea outdoor cats are a bad idea, but everything else people say is a fricking meme.

There's been a marked accelaration of grief posting all over Wauf in the last 3~4 months. Some boards and generals have gone completely downhill. My theory is that Wauf is currently undergoing autopoietic ontogenesis into a formal ideal noema, and that the psychic frustration and weapon-grade stupidity we generate on a regular basis is its fuel in doing so.
If I am right, Wauf will soon iterate itself into an ideal principle such as Truth, Good or Reality.

Autopoiesis: a substance's property to define an interface at its limit, I.e. a "frontier". An oil dropped in water has strong autopoiesis, for example. It is the first step in the creation of life.

Ontogenesis : initial moment of creation for something.

Noema: the "object" side of a phenomena, opposed to its noesis, which is purely the "mind" side of it.

People who "control" coyotes (read: destroy the native ecosystem) for the sake of their unsupervised cat/dog are human garbage.

Keep your animals fenced, leashed, and supervised and leave the wildlife alone. I bet you're the kind of people who seethe when game wardens shoot free running dogs for harassing deer.

We are allergic. It followed us home this winter when we were shoveling the neighbors driveway. Was about a pound. Put out propane heaters to keep it warm and made a house for it. It survived and got big, now it's summer and it hasn't been home all day. I think something ate it and my kids are sad, and I'm sad for getting attached. Pretty shitty. I hope she's outside in the morning. I try to keep the coyote population in check, hadn't heard a howl in years. Hopefully she's just exploring. Left all the outside lights on for her and some food. Thank you for being rude.

I looked up this "study" and there's like 1-2 studies about this shit that Reddit and all midwits keeps screaming about and all I could find was a single study that has a sample size of like 10 cats in a single area and they based their entire study around that. Other than that study it was pure speculation and guesses.

How did the "cats kill everything around them" meme even spread so much?

They don't belong here, for one, unless you're some nihilist frick. They have been documented contributing to and causing multiple extinctions alongside free roaming dogs. They also attract and live in equilibrium with invasive rats and manipulate low-grade humans to be more destructive towards native predators because cats evolved to mimic the appearance, noises, and behaviors of human infants.

If you aren't an NPC and are aware of this, you keep your cat inside.

Most importantly it is plainly obvious that your pet, which is closer to a parasite than anything, should not take priority over the native ecosystem (which is coincidentally more noble and respectable than some vermin animal from africa). I genuinely hope the coyote enjoyed its meal and fed some to their pups.

Funny, even in countries where dogs run rampant and cats are actually a food source they still survive.
Cats are an apex entity because they mix great predatory skills aimed at a very large variety of food sources with the breeding cycle usually found in rodents.

                Anonymous

That's not apex. They're a food source. What you are describing is "persistent vermin".

If humans stop feeding and sheltering them, like wild dogs they die out if there is no native equivalent and if there is, the stragglers are absorbed.

            You never owned a cat
I have raised 7 cats in my lifetime and every single one of them killed birds, squirrels, and even other cats
I live in the city so I didn't really give a frick and let them in my backyard
They didn't stay there though, I had seen my cats in the city several times while grocery shopping or going to work
My cats would always bring me home the head of some animal they had killed
One day the head of a crow or Sparrow, another day a red squirrel
Was a real shocker the one day I opened my door to see my cat licking the severed head of another cat
            Oh well I said

My cat goes outside. And by outside I mean she lays on the porch in the sun and occasionally goes down to the ground to eat some grass, then comes back. In 12 years of existence she's killed 4 animals, all mice who tried getting in during the winter.
But sure all cats are genocidal murderers with a killcount in the thousands.

also, do you really think those 10 cats' behaviors were so unique and special as not to apply to virtually every freeroaming cat out there?
