      >cat people love cats so much they throw them outside within a week of getting them because they get sit of their homes smelling like shit constantly
      >they come up with coping strategies like this and say stuff like "mr. fluffybottoms NEEDS to be outside because um he's a hunter" or "it's only natural for cats to roam around outside, they're native species in my region"
No other pet owners do this. People don't get dogs and then just throw them out the front door to wander the neighborhood. Snake owners don't let them outside. People who own birds don't just put the animal out and let it fly away. If you love your cat so much why do you let it dissapear for hours/days/weeks at a time with no idea where it is or what it's doing?

            cat nutters are defined by:
1: magical thinking and severe anthropomorphization, projecting their desire for freedom onto an animal
2: basing 50% of their self worth on not being a caricature of a dog owner to the point of being unable to discuss anything without bringing it up
3: having no sense of responsibility

            >just neglect your pets so they die early bro
            >the cat is totally believes odin will welcome him in valhalla

cats were associated with withcraft too because how their owners treat them is unchristian tbh. jesus was a shepherd, he kept his flock safe. one of the foundations of christianity is that we give up some freedom for safety and eternal life. all of christian society is based on giving up some freedom to live a long and peaceful life and outdoor cat gays are completely at odds with it spouting bullshit about fates and warriors deaths.

the only place and time when outdoor cats worked, that was also at least christian-ish, was in old muslim cities where they were practically worshipped and the outdoor cats were actively cared for and didn't have to worry about cars or predators, because the cat worshipping muslims wiped everything that wasn't a cat out.

You are talking about an animal with half as many neurons in its cerebral cortex as a smaller chihuahua. It doesn't know what's going on. It doesn't know the difference between an interesting house and a large uninteresting expanse. All it has is an energy level and instincts and it has been proven that they can be satisfied without it leaving your property.

Domestic animals were bred to stay close to humans in an era where the fast form of transport traveled less than 30mph, nations were ethnically pure, and muslims, africans and israelites that hated and casually tortured and killed animals were driven out with zeal. And even then, natural selection favored animals that did not stray too far from home. The average "lost dog" will not travel more than 50 yards from its owner and the territory of the domestic cat is a pittance that might encompass a city block if it has a family, only growing it is looking for one. This is because traditionally all domestic animals roamed free, none were neutered, and when their territories overlapped in cramped towns and cities, they killed each other, and the ones with smaller territories were more likely to survive.

Today due to increased population densities and transport speeds even that smaller territory can prove fatal. The only animals surviving have a territory the size of a front porch.

          >respect him as a living being with agency
Doggays will never understand this concept, don't even try. To them, a pet is supposed to be a mindbroken slave animal

You are a hypocrite. You gleefully accept when the state keeps you safe and locked up, well fed and cared for, but can not imagine doing the same to an animal to prolong its life and save it from suffering. A dumb animal that does not know anything that is going on. You alone are human and can long for a poetic wild man/viking fantasy, a cat is the least likely animal to care and has been largely bred not to. It is more wrong for you to be a slave to society, paying taxes than for you to keep an animal safe, because the animal will never know the difference except for the suffering.

you're just not very smart so when you see people type a lot of words, you assume they're angry, because you think using words is hard so someone would have to be really motivated to use that many big, scary words. but be assured, when you are college educated, typing a 3 page essay takes as much mental and physical effort to people like us as writing a one line shitpost does to you.

consider the vocal and clever black cat who has no trouble expressing his thoughts and making his way through life, and liken it to the braindead, silent ragdoll that only makes noise when it's angry and or hungry.

"Indoor cat" aka animal abuse. They belong outside, at least part time. All of the indoor cats I've ever seen are insane from being locked up their entire life, and make a run for the door at every chance.

    You people are sick.

a housecat has half as many neurons in its cerebral cortex as a chihuahua. it is a dumb animal that does not know anything but pleasure from satisfying its instinctive drives. if you provide cat trees with tunnels, houses, caves, and scratching posts and actually spend time playing with your cat they are fine inside.

the only ones being abused are the lazy homosexuals that got a cat because they wanted something low maintenance but still cute, social, and mammalian, and were all hyped up after reading Howard "closet gay incel" Lovecraft's cats and dogs rant, expecting a cool intellectual companion that would make them stand out as supreme gentlemen, not an eternal toddler with knives for hands. indoor cats are happy, but it's clearly the humans being abused there
      >it's so NEEDY
      >it shits and pisses IN A BOX IN MY HOME
      >uhhh i mean cats belong outside they were never truly domesticated 🙂

mexicans treat dogs the same way because they can't figure out how to care for them indoors, so in mexico, most dogs are "outdoor dogs" and mexicans believe dogs are necessarily unhappy and insane if kept indoors. clearly, that's incorrect. poor, overworked, and lazy people just shouldn't have dogs. it's time for that to be realized by cat people as well.

the average lifespan of an outdoor cat is 2-4 years.
outdoor cats are more likely to contract lifelong illnesses like FIV.
outdoor cats deaths are normally protracted and horrific.

it is literally animal abuse to let a cat outdoors. you are substituting emotional neglect from your lazy ass that didn't actually want to take care of an animal with physical neglect so your cat will eat shit and die a horrible death at, at most, 1/4 its natural lifespan.

Well would you guess what? I went to get gas today and saw ANOTHER dead cat on the side of the road. This one was black and looked like he would have been pretty fit, but not fit enough for meager 35mph traffic. Cats can't judge speed very well. He was all there with a pained look on his face. I don't think he died peacefully. He was probably a nice cat too. I checked for a collar and felt between his shoulders for a chip and found nothing, so I moved his body into the shade beyond the sidewalk so jokers wouldn't smash his corpse for fun. Maybe his owners live nearby and will find him. Maybe he was abandoned or lost from another part of town. No one will ever know.

Of course, this was on a corner too.

At least 5.4 million cats are hit by cars every year but probably double or triple because i don't think anyone cares when a cat is hit. Outside does not have to mean over the fence. Keep them safe.

Cars and other people's dogs are number 1 threat, followed by mean people. Could also go somewhere they might get stuck, like under a house and get shut in there because someone was working and didn't know they went in. Fights with unneutered male cats. The list goes on. It's fine to do if you live in a very rural place with no predators, otherwise you're just asking for trouble. What happens when a neighbor gets pissed at your cat sitting on their car or shitting in their yard? What happens when a shitbull on the loose gets your cat? What happens when kitty hides under a car and gets ran over when they leave for work?

          >A very rural place with no predators
Lmao. Farmers with quail and chicks to watch out for, dogs, coyotes, skunks, foxes, raccoons, hawks, eagles...

And it's usually not pitbulls that attack cats. It's pretty much every breed of dog if the dog wasn't raised with cats. And the owners don't give a shit. They don't like cats any more than farmers like their dogs roaming on their land. Why would they? Their pets get shot if their moron wives let them out and they're spotted within a mile of a single cow, no matter how nice they are. If their dog was never socialized with cats, and yet you want your cat to roam around, well, welcome to their world.

farmers who don't have their livestock secured in a pen are moronic. met plenty of them.
            > hurr durr my chickens got ate! better kill every coon, possom, and other animal that wanders in my yard.
Literally avoidable. I have chickens myself and have NEVER had an issue becuase I'm not room temp IQ and built a proper enclosure for them. farmers are the ones who ruined the ecosystem worse than any stray cat killing songbirds. farmers destroy both native flora and fauna so that you can sip corn syrup and eat grains like cattle. farming is the reason 90% of native predators across the developed world are nearly extinct or at low numbers and pushed away from their native habitat range.
