humans decided that a larger brain and longer development time in the womb was worth killing the mothers with a narrow pelvis, but some butthole decided that people should stop dying and invented the c-section, but that didnt stop the mortality rate, only increased it, until they decided that cutting up people on slabs that held cadavers 30 seconds earlier was a bad idea, and later washing your hands and tools
its kinda a miracle that humans have lasted as long as we have since getting smarter than the species needs to be imposes a lot of problems on them, but its a catch-22, we can solve the problems brought forth from intelligence with intelligence, but we wouldnt need to solve them if we didnt have intelligence in the first place

Why are you assuming that anything went wrong? Maybe we are just in the middle of the adaptation process: one side of the equation has yet to completely catch up as bigger heads and longer gestation periods proved unreasonably advantageous.

    >painful, requires drugs, most often a hospital environment as well. pre-modern medicine infant morality rate was sky high, mother sometimes didn't survive the birth either
That's a load of bullshit. People are perfectly capable of giving birth on their own, its an instinctive biological process.
Infant mortality was driven by illness.
Women still die today in childbirth.
My hippy sister did a home birth, and despite being a massive pussy her whole life shat that baby out like a champ with a midwife.
Hell there's even a lot of arguments that a sterile hospital environment isn't good for a baby since their immune system is blank and the quicker it starts working, the faster it can develop.

Humans developed an extraordinarily large head size among primates, in order to be smarter. In fact, human birth cranial size is so large, many adaptations had to occur to accommodate it.]

    >Large highly stretchable birth canals
    >Wide female pelvic bones with some flexibility
    >Large erectable penises (to fit in larger birth canals)
    >Flexible baby cranium that can be deformed during birth

Because that chick has good genes. A lot of man-hipped women are going around since C sections and induced labor have eliminated any selective pressure for reproductively functional women. It's in a constant battle against selection for narrow-hipped men and sometimes the genes for hip width aren't perfectly sex linked.

In fact, human "ugliness" persists in the gene pool because it's caused by people having good traits for the opposite sex, totally out of place.

All mammals are doing it wrong. Their biggest mistake was abandoning the cloaca. It makes things way too complicated. Why not have one big hole instead of three small ones.

Humans are pussies. Witness the solomon island skink:

The Solomon Islands skink reproduces by viviparous matrotrophy:[note 3] the female provides a placenta for its young, which are born after a gestation period of six to eight months; this is a rare trait among reptiles.[22] The newborn skink is of a large size compared to its mother; the northern Solomon Islands skinks are approximately 29 centimetres (11 in) in length and weigh 80 grams (0.18 lb), whereas the common Solomon Islands skinks are 30 centimetres (12 in) and 175 grams (0.386 lb) when they are born.[5] This reduced size disparity led the former curator of reptiles at the Philadelphia Zoo, Dr. Kevin Wright, to compare it to "a human mother giving birth to a six year–old".[9] Almost all births are single babies, but occasionally twins will be born.[9] At least one instance of triplets has occurred according to herpetologist Bert Langerwerf.[11]

According to the link, a retrovirus is where it all went wrong. Basically, it allowed the body to code for a super invasive placenta and a fetus that can control how much nutrients it can get. Without a hemochorial placenta, you don’t have the massive bleeding risks, infection risks, or a fetus that makes permanent changes to your body to aggressively harvest nutrients at your expense, and some other weird shit to kill off competition. Other mammals have a more “normal” placenta that leaves the mother’s body much safer and in complete control of how much blood flow and nutrition the offspring gets.

Actually it is just as painless for humans, the thing is that the hospital put you on your back when it is literally the worse position possible to give birth in, then pat themselves on the back because they could "help you" with the resulting complications.
Also, terrible diet has made our bone structure narrower which make it harder to give birth.

It’s still very painful to give birth no matter what position you’re in (contractions and tearing for example), but yes squatting or on all fours is much better and natural, and makes things much easier for the mother.
Lying on your back is just for the doctors’ sake and it’s moronic

That's why i also mentioned diet making our bone structure narrower, aboriginal people that still have a primal diet, not only have perfect teeth and a good jawbone but also a much easier time giving birth.

I've seen plenty of liveleak videos from third world countries where a woman will just pause while standing around waiting for a bus or something, squat down a little bit and just pop a baby out.
