How common is it for a dog groomer to reject intact dogs as clients?

I have a dog that needs to be groomed or else his hair will cover his face, and I decided not to neuter him. Not sure if I should broach the subject with our current groomer because he's still in the gray zone in regard to age (7 months old) and she might evaluate by behavior anyway. I know with boarding and daycare places, they generally reject intact dogs, but not sure about groomers.

Most dogs are rejected as clients because they have no money or agency.

Do dog groomers ever accidentally slice open the dog’s ballsack?

I worked at a petsmart for 3 years and it only happened once. So yes but rarely. I think that groomer was fired.

I'm sure many women would love to be paid to fondle dog balls all day.

why don't you just call the groomer and ask
we aren't your rumination head mates

Boarding rejects intact dogs because they have to leave them unattended and the dogs often frick each other, being sexually attracted to their own species and all. Sometimes intact males will frick spayed females. That gets bloody and life threatening. Sometimes neutered males will frick intact females. This normally causes a lot of trauma and sometimes pyo because they don't produce enough lube.

Groomers don't. Dogs are kenneled and come out one at a time at the most.

To anybody asking "why would they," I don't know; that's why I'm asking. Multiple dogs may come into contact at a groomer, even if under supervision, so I just wanted to plan ahead in case this groomer ever terminates us as clients.

I had no idea these sorts of things could happen.

it's way more likely if they're spayed/neutered late so you don't royally frick their skeleton and predispose them to two dozen cancers, thyroid issues, and autoimmune disorders... as badly.

Most americans aren't familiar with this because they are habitual dog abusers who believe the ideal life for a dog is complete neglect.

      >had an intact male springer spaniel and an intact female rottweiler while growing up
      >they never fricked
what did they mean by this? how rare is it for this happen?

Rottweilers are so ugly even other dogs won’t frick them.

Literally never heard of it, why would they?

Intact=aggression is stupid outdated fuddlore and has no bearing on temperament at all, I've seen way more fixed dogs show violent aggression, by far

then why are farm animals still castrated?

because we're talking about dogs, which actually evolved to live with us, not livestock, which are just the regular animal but too dumb to run away and most likely missing any sense of mortality or agency.

Farm animals are entirely untrained and left out in the open for days at a time. An intact canine can pretty easily be trained to not give in to aggressive and sexual impulses for a few minutes while they're being trimmed.

So you don’t get more of them than you want.

Only non-virgins goats and rams have bad taste

It's only on factory-farming and not with all animals. Bunnies are not castrated for example

Those make a modicum of sense. I don't think any groomers will reject your dog based solely on being neutered or not.

I've sent my non-castrated dog to get washed and groomed to multiple places and they never rejected him, or even mentioned anything about his status
