So do they bite people or just stomp their shit in? I'd imagine they would frick you up something like a big wild boar would, but I've never heard any detailed accounts of attacks.

Hippos aren't that effective. Humans are the most effective animals when it comes to killing other humans...

There are numerous parasites under Animalia like blood flukes that kill thousands of humans per year.

why aren't there any cool videos or stories about man eating hippos? Surely at least one has developed a taste for human flesh.

I thought hippos were vegan, and that that was where they got their aggro

hippos have been seen eating carcasses. Wouldn't be unlikely if a hippo consumed a part of a human corpse after killing someone since it happens so often.

I thought they liked aged carcasses because they're soft and easier on their digestive system. A fresh human kill is probably too tough and stringy, not to mention filled with all them industrial chemicals. 0/10 wouldn't eat again.

            >I thought they liked aged carcasses because they're soft and easier on their digestive syste
Hippos have one of the strongest bites in the animal kingdom. Spotted hyenas have a bite force strong enough to break bones and it is 1100 PSI, the strongest shark bit is 1300 PSI, Jaguars who kill not by strangling but by biting the head directly have a 1500 PSI bite, hippos have a 2000 PSI bite, the human body is like custard for them. Cellulose is the hard to digest molecule. the hard to chew parts from humans are the bones and ligaments and those can be broken down easily by enzymes. The only thing I can see as being an issue is all the fat we have since their diet usually is low in fat I assume. This means that they wouldn't be able to digest and absorb all our fat and would get some runny shit later.

          >Hippos cannot swim in the water. Instead, they walk on the reservoir floor with the help of their powerful muscles and toes. The hippos can move underwater at five mph using their unique swim technique.
Motherfricker that is not five mph.
