If I kill an animal it was either
    1) An accident: in which I don't feel bad.
    2) Self defense: in which I don't feel bad.
    3) They Violated the NAP: in which I don't feel bad.

    >Have any of you ever accidentally killed a bug or spider or another small animal?
    Yes.
    >How did you feel?
Terrible. I still do. Reminds me that I ran into a dead and completely flattened garter snake in the road today. Looks like the little guy had been there for quite a while, kind of a sad and wistful thing. Dunno if anyone else noticed, but at least one person in the world acknowledged it and felt bad for them.

I don't care much for killing mosquitos, since it's more a fair game - they attack me and I defend. But I try to avoid killing even things like bugs and snails if they don't bother me.

I've accidentally killed a few lizards as a kid when catching them, still feel bad to this day. Mosquitoes on the other hand I feel nothing for. They have no soul and will bite you/ something you DEFINITELY like more than the mosquito itself.

    >My foot lands on one of the legs of the chair while I was chasing him

    > I lift up the chair to see him squished into the ground, eyes bulging out
    >it was straight out of a cartoon

I felt like I killed one of my own family. I still think about it to this day. I hope the lizard gods have forgiven me by then

I blindly stepped on a centi/milli/frickipede or whatever it is once or twice. The brown crawly ones with the big whiskers. I hate those things so much.

I understand killing centipedes because their bite hurts like hell but millipedes are only dangerous when eaten and are bros.

I aimed a blow dryer at a spider and it immediately shriveled up and died.
I was just expecting it to run away and I felt bad.

I have always had a rule to kill spiders in my house since I consider them a threat. However, I love jumping spiders. One day a Jumping spider walked out on the work space in front of me and looked up. It raised a leg and wienered it's head. I smashed it. Honestly, that was years ago and it's one of my biggest regrets in life.
All the other countless insects I've slaughter don't mean shit but that damn jumping spider was a sin to kill. I know it. I haven't touched one since.

I was walking along and saw a lil frog in my way. I tried to walk around him but he jumped right under my foot. I felt terrible about it and after reflecting on what I did wrong, I came to the conclusion that avoiding stepping on something much smaller than you is something only a human would do, so by acting in an unexpected way I might as well have purposely killed it.
I have since stopped looking at the ground while I walk. I assume I haven't stepped on any more frogs, but I have no way of really knowing now.

I had a frog jump into my bike gears once, no clue how. I got home and noticed it hanging by it's mangled leg in my derailuer. I didn't want to touch it because it was icky, so I rode up and down the street shifting gears until it's leg finally ripped all the way off. Then I circled back and ran over it. It was very gruesome and I didn't like it, didn't feel that guilty about it though.

I keep spiders, they're nice for getting rid of smaller pests. A little web in a corner is a small price to pay for less flies/etc. bothering you
Only kill them if they're massive/identifiable as something that could kill me. I was able to safely get one out the other day by using a discarded web in a paper towel: it got him stuck, then i shook it out outside so he could escape. House centipedes though, I kill w/o mercy, they move so erratically I couldn't rehome them if i wanted and they unsettle me, lots of awful experiences especially with the larger ones

I'm sure he frogives you, anon. You didn't mean any harm

Yes, I used to kill ladybugs sometimes by mistake as a kid and also moths and butterflies when I didn’t realize that just catching and touching the powder on their wings kills them, very sad.

I don't feel bad over killing stuff like mosquitoes, flies, and earwigs. I'm sure they would do the same in my position. I do feel bad when I accidentally kill any critter minding their own business such as stepping on a snail or something.

I massacred and tortured ants as a child. Sometimes I would try to "teach them to scuba dive" by drowning them in a small container of water.

In kindergarten I defended multiple ant colonies from toddlers even getting physical, those kids were creeps and deserved to get beatdown for trying to pick on small beasties.

I remember using fly spray on a giant ant nest 20 or so years ago because I was "curious". Still feel like shit about it. They're also one of the most chill species.

Aside from any mosquito that lands on me, I hate killing anything now (maybe an annoying fly inside the house that won't piss off). I go out of my way to avoid stepping on any insect. Refuse to even harm dangerous spiders like redbacks.
