It's too bad cryptobros tarnished her with rat race schemes and that is what she's known for now. They even organized an event for her 18th birthday and flew to Japan to help advertise their NFTs.

At least longcat didn't suffer this fate, she was a relic from the mid 00s where most online content wasn't monetized.
Its even worse now. She can't move anymore so the owner built some kind of machine to hold her and she is attached to it like some kind of flying sausage.
you fuckers joke with the poor dog, but miss out the fact that your children will probably leave you in an elders home to rot to death. While a dog is getting all kinds of contraptions to stay with its owner for those precious few months it has
Who's joking? Dog owners know for a fact that squeezing every little bit of lifeforce out of the animal is often easier than saying goodbye. I've had to put down two dogs. As terrible as it is, the responsible thing is to let them go when their suffering reaches a certain point. That threshold isn't always clear, but I don't blame people for wondering if what the owners are doing is in the dog's best interest. Best-case scenario they're able to keep her comfortable until she stops eating.
Animals aren't emo homosexuals who think things like "if i can not play basketball, ride a bicycle, and hold a six figure job, I HAVE NOTHING TO LIVE FOR AND I AM FUCKING KILLING MYSELF! My eyesight is going and I am less intelligent now? I AM KILLING MYSELF I HAVE NO REASON TO STAY THIS IS SUFFERING!"
In fact most humans aren't. You need an IQ well over 100 to be likely to think like that. Everything else on earth simply wants to live at any cost. Pain killers are a kinder mercy than death to animals, such as dogs and Black folks.

Your objection to animal euthanasia is that they cannot experience angst?
Animals know how to endure above all else. That doesn't mean they want to. Living things in-general pursue survival strategies that minimize or outright avoid pain. What happens when the pain is ever-present and cannot be avoided? Their suffering is tangible and legitimate without existential pain. As a pet owner, you're in the position to grant them a particular mercy.
You can give an animals as much medication and surgery as you want to help prolong their life and ease their pain. Unlike people, you can never explain to them why you're doing it. When the choice is between letting them spend their last moments in agony or comfort, most people choose the latter.

There are loads of people like that around, and they are the ones who cant understand their own selfishness. yes it is REALLY hard to let go of a pet we have had sometimes bordering on 20 years.
Even if they have dementia, you look at them when sleeping and almost think they are the same despite them long forgetting who you are, getting trapped walking incircles all day, stuck in corners, peeing constantly.
A lot of people can never move past their own feelings - and think that letting go is the selfish thing. They have it backwards. I have been through this 3 times. my first dog literally died in the car on the way to being euthanised. It was the most heart breaking thing ever and i never want to make that mistake ever again.
Most vets will tell you if it is time to euthanise a pet. they wont tell you outright, but if you ASK them, they will suggest it if they think it is time or very close(usually after trying a few medications or whatever).
I live in Japan and my insta is full of dogs. i dont know if this is the case in other countries, but here i see SO MANY really, really old dogs like this shiba that are completely unable to walk any more, blind, death, DEEP into dog dementia with no concept of their owners, and would just aimlessly walk into corners if they could even walk.
My dog had dog dementia, a JRT. she was 18 but healthy body. just lost all concept of us and got trapped in corners. walking in circles till collapsing and peeing on the floor. got her euthanised. was begging my mother to do it months prior to when she did.
I see a lot of dogs like that her but they do everything to keep it going unnaturally long. it looks really bad and the dogs clearly need to be helped into the next phase. I see elaborate machines they use to help it walk, diapers, contraptions confining it to a small space in the home so it doesnt get lost... its crazy. at some point you are only keeping the damn dog alive out of your own SELFISH desire not to let go. The dogs have long forgotten who you are and everything about life to dementia.
happy birthday! it's really unusual for a shiba to get this far. wild story, especially since she was a rescue if I remember correctly.
inb4 the usual silly edgelords.
May she live for a thousand years
immortalized

le heckin meme doggo
Why do cats have longer lifespans than dogs on average? There are plenty of stories of cats hitting 20s, and there is even a few that hit late 30s.
They're just different animals. They may have somewhat slower metabolisms.
the most internet-popular dog breed is the one that's the most cat-like.
makes you think.
she cant even walk on her own. i wish they'd just end her suffering already.
This + blind as fuck + small tumours
Its time to let her go...
ew it got moldy

The dog is already dead. Those are her from when she was old already.
