The Chinese outlawed it because it is too potent of an aphrodisiac. It can turn you into a sex-crazed maniac for days at a time and cause you to frick and jerk off so hard that you get a heart attack or permanently damage your wiener and prostate to the point where you only cum blood.

i just came up with theory right now
elephants are nice social creatures because obviously you have better overall success working together. however being nice doesn't get you b***hes so males developed rage mode that makes them aggressive buttholes. they drive away competition and make elephant pussies wet.
now such behaviour obviously exist in most mammals during heat but because elephants are particularly intelligent they need that additional chemical anger to override their common sense and become hostile towards family.

We do, females will choose an extremely violent mate based on their size/aggression all the time, especially in their reproductive prime (14-25). Were a little more polite about it but not really.

Humans adapted by literally hiding the female heat cycle coupled with year-round mating. The period of maximum fertility where stacy wants gigachad is only known to stacy.

I dunno lads, my opinion is that if it weren't for human hunting climate change wouldn't have had such a serious effect.
Also relevant would be the effect climate change would have had on human populations. IIRC, generally speaking, as temperatures rose human communities grew and spread out.

I mean, which one sounds more believable.
                >humans were one of the many factors that accelerated the extinction of already declining animal groups in a period of rapid climatic change
                or
                >humans are voracious orcs that murdered every last mammoth on the planet they could get their hands on and were single-handedly responsible for the disappearance of all megafauna outside africa and southeast asia

                Anonymous

I imagine if climate change wasn't a thing we'd still have wiped them out. We've been doing this to a lot of species anyway even without climate change.
Over hunting has always been an issue for humans even when we get our food from crops and cattle.

No, American Paleo injuns armed with rocks and sticks couldn't kill enough animals from the tons of different megafauna species that absolutely infested the continent to make a Younger Dryas-sized dent in their populations. They couldn't even do it to extant buffalo in the 1800's, even when they implemented techniques like cliff running, in which they would drive full herds of them off of cliffs (mind you they used horses and guns as well). Westward pioneers from the same time where that hunting technique is described also give accounts of there being entire plains of buffalo as far as the eye could see; there were so many they were seen a vermin like deer today.

I should follow up by saying, it took railroads, guns, and government intervention to bring American bison to the brink of extinction.

              So what happened?

                Anonymous

Younger Dryas event. Massive glacial melt caused by either a meteor or volcanic activity made flood water/mud that wiped out a shit ton of large land animals and basically uprooted the food chains on several continents (didn't do much to places like Africa, since they still have megafauna today). You can find evidence of thus through the flash frozen mammoths with dandelions still in their mouths in Siberia and on Alaskan islands. Of course it didn't kill everything all at once, and we've found that some megafauna like mammoths died much later than we thought they did in North America (they were apparently living even as recent as 6000 years ago), which is something that would never happen if humans were partial to hunting them to extinction.

              Anonymous

              false dichotomy

if humans killed even one animal they contributed to the extinction.

of course they didn't kill all of the animals in a population that went extinct. Don't be moronic. Killing some of them either contributed to or caused the extinction depending how you choose to look at it.

              Anonymous

We've found so many atlatl point embedded in mammoth ribs that we might as well have driven them into extinction or at least we did hunt them a lot so there was definitely human contribution.
