How do we fix this race? Seems like it's awfully predisposed to develop tumors

Mix them with Bull breeds like APBT, AST or standard ABD or mix them with Mastiff breeds like Dogo Argentino, Cane Corso, Press Canario, Alano Espanol, Ca de Bou, Uruguayan Cimeron, Bully Kutta, Tosa Inu, Perro Pampa Argentino, etc.

So now instead of neos being fricked up you have sullied superior animals with their shit genes

these god awful "dogs" are literally made of genetic disorders, and not in the good way like how humans are chimps with genetic disorders, their disorders do nothing for their survival unless you consider "be aggressive and look as the victorian toilet paper notes say it should" an ecological ncihe.

This. Some breeds need to die out. It has happened before to healthier breeds. We're just prolonging their misery. We don't need them and they would be better off extinct.

There were extremely healthy and notoriously good sled dog breeds that died out because european colonists killed them to try and civilize the natives. Tons of great genes have been lost to street dog extermination that could have saved dogs in general in the future. We are rapidly approaching a point where the only way to get a dog that lives past 15 will be to start over from wolves.

But I guess we gotta keep inbreeding these sad excuses for roman war dogs and ruin better breeds in the process. Think of the breed. We gotta preserve the breed. And inbreed it harder so every single pup is a show winner, I mean, better the breed.

Go to good breeders who've had dogs last 10+ years and are aiming for longer.
It is entirely possible and breeders like that do exists, even for giant breeds. The breeders I'm looking at getting my newf from have had multiple dogs last 12 years or more.

That's literally the full lifespan of a rat. They died simply because they were too old to live

I'd like to get a rat but i don't want to get attached to anything with that short of a lifespan.

The dog genome is poorly understood. All we know is that the longer kennel clubs try to maintain a breed and the more extreme the deviation from the standard dog (as seen in the dingo) - and therefore the more inbreeding required to fix and avoid losing traits - the more cancers and unexplained issues they have.

Part of it is purebreds are selected for their performance for the first 7-8 years of their life and the rest is irrelevant to breeders.

      >How do we fix this race?
We don't. Let the breeders find out. Neos are doomed anyway. We don't need them any more.

      That's not normal.

      >all benign, hasn't affected him much at all
      >tfw he's 16 and still going
      Just built different I guess.

That's the 10,000 year old cancer-dog. It's a parasitic sexually transmitted cancer that adapted to not kill it's hosts.
Still blows my mind, and it's better than getting cancer from a tapeworm.

My dog's been neutered as long as we've had him though and I doubt he'd ever let another dog get close enough to frick him he's very touchy. Wonder if it'll prevent him from getting other cancers now lol.
