For those of you whom have a pet cat how often are you supposed to water them and how often do you actually water them?

It will be a nice when we have a day when pets can be replaced with automatons, that act just like the real thing, but you never have to feed it or bathe it or clean up after it only charge it. Maybe they'll have solar powered cats one day. Or cats that are nuclear powered.

domestic cats stem from desert cats from north africa, they hardly ever drink if you give them wet food, they're that good at retaining moisture

I gave my cat water daily or every other day depending on how much he drank. He drank a lot for a cat.

As far as self-cleaning litter robots we liked ours, but you still have to change the open bag underneath once a week or less depending on how much they pee and poop. Overall it really cut down on the smell and maintenance

i never water my cat, he would never drink from the $100 fountain i got for him. he only eats wet food so i guess he's satisfied with that, and i will add extra water to his meals sometimes

You can remotely control them with your Iphone and never have to change your cat's litter again. Cool, huh?

If a get a cat, I'm getting one of these things. I hate dealing with poop. That's why I'll never have children.

        >never have to change your cat's litter again
Umm, sweety, somebody still has to empty the litter from the machine and load it with fresh litter.
My dad's best friend bought one for his three cats; two absolutely refused to use it, and one day there was a ring of shit on the inside that he had to clean.

Stupid product that absolutely doesn't need wifi access and a smartphone app.

Aren't there ones that have bags in the back like vacuums and seal up and you never have to touch the poop or smell it? Or do they have ones that have incinerators attached to the back to just burn the poop, and have piping attached to it like a wood stove or a fireplace so it doesn't smoke up your house with fecal smoke?

If you're lucky it's an open plastic bag filled with stink that you have to deal with.

you can toilet train your cat but be aware that anything other than just a box is likely to cause behavioral issues

          What kind of behavioral issues?

they can be super picky about their pissing situation so they would just straight up refuse to use the pissing hole of your choice and just piss anywhere else in your home. which would really defeat the purpose of what you're trying to do in the first place. for example a lot of cats refuse to use lidded boxes, and often might just shit right outside of it instead of inside

children are reliably toilet trained by age 3
cats shit in an open air dirt toilet and walk all over your house with dirty litter feet 20 years until they die

"I'd rather get a cat where I'll have to deal with shit on my carpet, in my bed, etc, for 20 years instead of changing diapers for 18 months for a kid."

I can smell the low testosterone on you. Go sun your balls.

These things don't actually save you from dealing with poop. You still need to empty the collection bin thing, and manually scrub the reeking piss shit litter mixture out of them once a week because it is still literally sewage and does build up. Cats can still track and kick litter out of them.

It's actually cleaner to have an animal shit outside and pick it up right away. Wear gloves or double bag so you don't have to touch the bag that touched the shit.
