They can also go bipedal for a bit but not sure if that's a significant advantage or not

Why didn't bears evolve to be digitigrade? They'd be a lot more faster/efficient as predators

Probably because hunting prey that can run away makes up such a small amount of their diet they never really had to. Most species eat primarily plants and insects for most of the year, and even when more carnivorous species like brown bears hunt they’re usually eating things like baby deer or salmon that don’t exactly run away. Polar bears are the only highly predatory ones and seals don’t exactly run

    >Bears have the largest and the most convoluted brain relative to their size among all land mammals except humans. Conversely, the brain of a dog is around the size of a tangerine and (while smart) most dogs are not as smart as bears.

        reconsider

it would be easy to outrun a bear, but not in a forest because you'd trip easily, so unless there's a freak accident at a circus it would not be easy to outrun a bear

literally the thing that makes them even more OP. if humans could hybernate we could be already be colonizing mars.

If humans could hibernate, there'd be a section of the population that fights the instinct and calls the others lazy for sleeping months at a time.

I suppose it also makes them vulnerable to other big predators, but it’s probably well worth it

I don't see that being possible when bats, moles, and shrews exist.

how can bats be moronic if they have such a sophisticated echolocation system

          Sophisticated info-gathering is not intelligence.
Intelligence is what the being does with the info.

Not really. Civits, cats, red pandas and skunks are all more moronic. They may not be on the level of raccons, seals or dogs. But stupid are they defentivly not
