TIL garbage feeding is a thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPbF45-ZB5M There's no fricking way they are able to remove all the plastic before it goes in the shredder. In theory I'm not opposed to recycling moldy food since that's not a problem for pigs but the amoung of plastic you see just in a few seconds' video is insane. And all that plastic ends up in the system of the apex predator, us. I'll have to check if my country allows for this practice ASAP.

North Korea has food security issues for decades and makes horrible use of its agriculture, not to mention it is at least partially dependent on international food gibs to survive and allocates the "luxury" resources that you'd find on a normal grocery store shelf to party officials. China may be a shit country, but the people there haven't had to worry about a famine since the 1970s.

Its honestly the normal in most of the world which I always come across doing farming another way, but it depends on the climate etc. You didn't get your animals in a barn when it was cold you motherfricker? Must be a horribile person. You mean you leave them outside all the time? You cant win with these morons, when it comes down to it though, 3 times a day most of the population needs someone who makes food and you could maybe take a look at who makes it most efficiently and there are people moving in on that who want to make your food chemically in a steel vat, and they will leverage veganism to get there, and plant the other guys land in trees to offset their coal burning and jet trips

If you want to process humans that is more disgusting than most I have seen which is saying something

      ironically its the opposite

factory farming is almost entirely fueled by subsidized grain. human grade livestock feed. there would be MORE food without it, only meat would be so expensive that poorgays wouldn't be able to eat a nutritionally complete diet without every moron having a half dozen laying hens living on their apartment balcony. people without anything resembling extra space or living in places with strict no animals policies, 99% of them too poor to afford enough very expensive meat, would be fricked into going borderline broke on supplements that don't entirely work. however they would not starve, they would just be slightly weaker and dumber.

this would result in the oppressed lower classes proliferating as well as ever, but being ever so slightly inferior from a meatless diet stunting their development and brain function

Livestock is only producing more food if kept on areas where the ground can't be used to grow good crops. Animals use up calories while living, if those calories come from corn or fat gras grown on soil that could have used to gow corn we sacrifice potential energy.

All living beings distinguish good from bad in some way. There are even videos of white ells chasing around bacteria which are aware that they are being chased and swim away like their life depends on it (bc it does).
If you as a living organism don't have a way to analyze your environment to engage with good stuff and avoid bad stuff you will stop existing as a species. Using "pain" is just a anthropocentric way of judging nature. Of course only animals get our sympathy and not even all of them. But unicelular beings, plants and fungi also suffer in their own ways. This is why exclution diets based on morality are just silly to me. Suffering is just as valid and part of life as pleasure. There is no need to torture animals but avoiding causing them ANY harm is just stupid. Eat meat, eat fish, eat vegetables and eat fungi. You should only pretend to be vegan to impress the cute uni chick you want to frick a couple times then ditch her for being a malnourished idiot, although they always drop the vegan shit once you date them for a bit, it happened to me.

The bacteria aren't aware they're being chased. The ones that survive more often mechanically move away from dangerous chemicals, like those produced by the immune system.

is dirt afraid of soap if a bubble causes it to wash away? Your empathy circuits are malfunctioning, ape.

Shake off your anthropocentric understanding of life. The bacteria is aware that they are being chased and thus runs away.
I am not using empathy to determine a bacteria is aware of danger and actively avoids it. I'm just stating the obvious.

A meat plant would be fricking amazing but would take a massive amount of editing work even with crispr. Animal and plant cells are pretty different.
An "animal" which has no brain and constantly generates fat and muscle tissue for harvesting would be less difficult.

        Anonymous

I would make an animal that is a huge meaty parasite hanging from trees, this way you get a tree that produces meat fruits. The problem is that then you need to raise it in a protected environment because there is no way wildlife will not want to eat a juicy animal that doesn't defend itself. Maybe we could make one animal that lives inside the plant? This way we cut the plant and harvest the animal instead and the plant will be the one protecting the animal. I think a cool idea would be an animal that is deeply connected to the plant so the animal will take water and sugars from the plant, get some supplements from the farmer but instead of producing urine it will return nitrogen and phosphorous waste to the plant aiding in the plant nutrition.

There's already synthetic, lab grown meat, it's just incredibly expensive and people in general are leery of it. Look up Future Meat Technologies and Memphis Meats. Ten years ago, it took $1.2m to grown one pound of ground beef and two years ago the cost had fallen to about $150 per pound.

It's not exactly vegan though, the meat is taken from cells of animals and cultured to grow on its own without a host body. It technically eliminates the concept of suffering from the animal because it's essentially a mass of tissue without a central nervous system or a brain, but that doesn't entirely eliminate the objections people may have.

the objections the moralizing proles have are nonsensical. god willing they will be too hungry to have a choice before it becomes an option and they will finally shut up.

          Anonymous

Well I mean I'll still be raising my own chickens, catching my own fish, and hunting my own deer until I finally die, but if the earth's population keeps going up meat is going to become incredibly expensive without a revolution in how it's generated. That being said, I'm banking on mass depopulation to hit first because people won't try to solve the supply problem until after problems start, and by then people will have already been pushed past the brink and start lining up to kill each other.

As the population grows, there will be calls for population control that will be ignored until the threats are made at the barrel of a gun, then riots will ensue, and then people will die. Perhaps some first world nations will shut their borders before then and try to keep things at an equilibrium, but ultimately it's going to be a losing battle without some truly draconian actions being taken.

We need at least some meat to live. We need animal products to replace a lot of petroleum products. We need animal products because they can be grown much easier than chemicals can be synthesized and they already contain an advanced chemical production line that turns literal sewage into textiles, food, and polymers.

The only thing that could possibly do it better is fungi and algae engineered for the process but processing animals is simpler and can be done more sustainably, with less technology, less electricity, more decentralization, less trucks on the road, and definitely less of those shitty fricking rolling hunks of rare earth metals they want to replace the existing trucks with. Remember the ultimate moral and environmentalist goal is MAJOR DEPOPULATION (ELIMINATION OF OVER 70% OF THE HUMAN RACE) and high tech solution cease being viable without a ponzi economy and globe-spanning supply chains to support them.

trying to eat nothing but plants is an exotic and circuitous solution
most vegans rely on heavily processed foods, supplements, and exotic imports just to avoid malnutrition before cucking out and eating a free range egg, and maybe some fish, in an admission that "feels pain" usually refers to the level of consciousness demonstrated by a simple robot that avoids impacts.

      >that's where americans reincarnate after they die

Whereas we europoors already live there from the beginning?

No. Feeding livestock anything fit for human consumption should be illegal, and we should be working on viable livestock that’s unable to think or feel pain.

Like a meat plant that grows from dirt.

      >Like a meat plant that grows from dirt.

you know fullw ell if I were to make such a thing, the vegan-progressive-f4f types would oppose it, would burn our HQ and terrorize those willing to eat it.

You say this but you are the only country with a safe future. China is absolutely fricked. Japan, South Korea as well. Europe soon too.

            no, china is not fricked

china's elite's desire to be 1984 meets NSDAP meets USSR meets starhip troopers is fricked in the long term and government enforced anti-western contrarianism is having less and less of an effect on the capitalists that are taking over their country and following the same cultural evolutionary path as the industrializing west. there is only one best solution to every problem and china is not a developed nation. it is a developing one and every single one comes to the same conclusions.
