    Well as other anons have said already, pampas foxes aren’t true foxes. It is interesting how distantly related they are to dogs though, when you look at coyotes or wolves which are close cousins it’s really cool that a dog can still reproduce with something like a pampas fox.

    There aren’t any consequences besides the fact that pampas foxes might be crossbreeding with dogs more often and tainting their genetics, but who really cares. Most canines choose to screw themselves over like that anyways because they don’t care who they mate with.
