that pic is prime example of a male raised by a single mother.

but yeah, i care for my pets. fricked me up when my dog died a couple years ago. only got five cats left of the feral group i've been taking care of. all spayed/neutered of course.
i care about them, but i really genuinely never want pets again. just sucks too much to lose them.

i love my cat but i'm not so sure about the fish. i love looking at them. but i don't cry when one dies. in fact i flush their dead bodies down the toilet and i would never do that to my cat.

so i guess my fish aren't really pets. they're just living decoration.

Yes, I loved each animal fren I had and always had more fun interacting with them than with humans.
I was given a yorkshire pup in 2011, the only beloved family member, only one who helped me get through the tough times of my life.
Smart, didn't bark at other dogs or people, just a friendly little buddy, I visited him once a month when I was kicked out, but one day in 2020 he was killed in the early morning by a fricking amerimutt akita owned by some bimbo, right on the day I was going to visit him.
I'm pretty sure I was fricked up for life by that, I'll just say that I've stalked out their daily walking routes and time, and I have a lot of gasoline prepared.

I've got a dog recently and I absolutely regret, it's super needy and whiny, smells terrible and it's generally much higher maintainance than a cat, for instance. I can't even get him to adoption because of same reasons OP's image states. Always loved all of my cats tho sometimes I get really angry at them.

Dog smell is a breed thing. So is being irritatingly needy.

Dogs that were never meant to be inside or pets smell bad. Hounds, collies, retrievers, mastiffs, pitbulls, and many german shepherds have an offensive musk. All of these were meant to live outside 24/7.
Dogs that were meant to be pets don't have a strong smell. Shiba inu, basenji, saluki, greyhounds, many small breeds, huskies, do not have an offensive odor as long as they are healthy. Shiba inu even groom themselves. These are primitive dogs and as much of a pet as a worker, but mostly a pet these days.

Dogs that were meant to be specialized working animals are very needy because the increased need for interaction and approval is what their obedience skills are actually based on (owner-dog interaction is nearly as good as high quality food). This is also why a border collie will be devastated and submissive if you shout NO, but a shiba inu just looks at you like you're an aggressive butthole. There are a few needy ones among the companion breeds but these dogs are typically kind of stupid.

Dogs that were not meant to be specialized working animals and do their "jobs" in a more catlike fashion (idly and mostly automatically) are more catlike overall. They are not as loyal, or as obedient (think of them like a smarter cat, trainable on their own terms and they don't work for free), but that can be a good thing because they are generally less protective as well. There are a few exceptions like the akita and these dogs are nightmares to live with.

Both types of dogs are equally intelligent, meaning they can frick up your house more than a cat over significantly less boredom. Greater minds need greater lives. Dogs are not good pets if you don't have a family and ample free time. They're great incel/poorgay filters in that respect.

I used to love my cat
However he's become such a problem, doesnt get along well with new cats, and is having a bunch of health problems
I'm not a rich man either so taking care of him will set me back by a lot
Id prefer to have someone come by and take him off my hands but nobody wants a 9 year old cat with tumors, behavioral problems and a chronic bladder infection

My sister has a dog she hates. She's a picky eater even with wet food (sometimes takes 15 minutes to feed her and sometimes we have to do it by hand), loves to bark, was extremely hard to house train, loves to eat poop, is headstrong and a bully, is dumb so barely learns anything, takes a long time outside to pee because she gets distracted by everything, and holds her poop so you have to walk her until she can't hold it anymore and poops on the sidewalk/street. She's a headache but is also funny and joyful. I love her when I don't have to help take care of her and hate her when I do.

Is this post intentional bait to rile me up
        >hand feeding 4D sloppa with no nutrition to your dog, making meal time a chore at best and an anxiety inducing nightmare at worst
        >eats shit
Dogs will "normally" eat clean herbivore shit sometimes, and it's actually not inherently unhealthy, just unpleasant to witness (it can in fact be nutitionally good)
        >headstrong, bully, easily distracted
It is possible that the dog is a dysgenic overbred adhd zoomer like creature, but it's equally or more so likely that your sister is. I imagine the dog receives schizophrenic instruction from your sister and has had its operant conditioning circuitry fried

Your sister needs a collar and leash first while the damage is still repairable. He sounds like a small dog, so feeding real food shouldn't be too expensive, try talking her into that.

The dog's a shih tzu. They're known for eating poop. And being hard-headed, hard to housetrain, hard to train in general, and being picky eaters.
          >but it's equally or more so likely that your sister is.
Your ideas about my sister are laughable. She's faithfully taken care of the dog for 11 years. She's responsible and calm. The only rightful blame you can lay on her is not looking more closely at the possible cons of the breed before getting one and she's getting punished for that now. Also, since it's bothering you so much, you don't have to worry about her getting any more animals. She said she's never getting another pet after the experience she's had with this dog.

Reminds me of a video I saw from a man that has a wieneratoo. He said he was having a hard and frustrating time with the bird but he did adopt it so he wasn't going to just throw the bird away. He would see it through. Those birds have a lifespan of a human. That man is going to have to live his whole life taking care of a loud, frustrating bird. It's his fault for getting it but it sounds like a life sentence of misery to me.

Yes even my snake that is incapable of giving a single shit about me in return. It makes me so happy to see his dumb little face peeking out at me every morning when I change his water bowl. I have a ton of exotic pets, most of them being fish albeit(cheating) and I love them all very much. Mammals are where it starts to get problematic. My mom impulse bought two sugar gliders, one escaped and ran off last summer, and now the other is left alone, and she keeps it in the basement because she can't stand the smell and has crap going on recently to where she has no time to spend with him. Hopefully once I finally get her to have him snipped he can spend more time upstairs with us. I wish there was a clean way to keep them.

Abandoning a child to a better family is an objective moral good. Getting a dog you aren’t sure you’ll like is pure stupidity. You have to go out and get a dog. It’s not foisted on you by a broken condom or failed birth control pill.

      >I can't give up my dog because [autism]
No one is going to give a shit

These. And I guarantee the autist in the OP doesn't have anyone in his life to "judge him" in the first place. Is there even a stigma against giving up a dog you don't/can't care for up for adoption in the first place?

        Anonymous

He is himself giving himself the shit.

He knows exactly how stupid and shameful it is to put in all the work to get a dog in the first place just to give it up. He knows exactly how that reflects on his character. He knows exactly how it makes him out to be impulsive as a severe fault. It's not like man has an instinctive NEED to go around adopting dogs. It's a giant glaring admission that he's self centered and time wasting.

Having a kid is in another league. Man has an instinctive NEED to put his dick inside women. If you don't do this, you literally go insane. People have turned into borderline schizophrenic mystics that live in lala-land from suffering excessive virginity. It is absolutely required for your mental health. Sometimes birth control fails, and if you aren't capable father and the mother agrees or sucks herself, it's better for the child if they are adopted out as an infant so they don't get confused or resentful.

I got dumped this year because every night I saw her, after we concluded the intercourse I would run at full speed home to let my birds have more out of the cage time

I don't understand, us sleeping next to each other means nothing. We're humans. We're just going to sleep because we need to, so we can wake up and begin a new day. But they're lonely, and don't understand why I'm not there. Why wouldn't I default to them?

I absolutely love my wieneratiel. But now he is getting old (22 or 23 years) and you cant really change how he behaves, so i get really fricking angry with him sometimes. Just moved into a new apartment and don't want to annoy the neighbors, but he can scream so fricking much and loud sometimes. So I put him in the cage and put a blanket over it, so he "sleeps". >yes, it is bad.
Yeah I figured. Its just that I sometimes cant even do simple things like watching tv while he sits there 3 feet away. He need constant attention, and sometimes even that isn't enough. I also think he hasn't settled into the new place yet tho. At the old place he would sleep by his cage most of the day, and here he haven't done that yet.

Not really he is old and probably doesn’t even notice it. Also good that you are trying not to annoy your neighbors!

New place and I have no idea how much the neighbors can hear through the walls. Don't really want to be that annoying neighbor.

Depends, if you live in a place like South America where it's normal to just never chill having a screeching parrot next door wouldn't be the worst.
If you live in Asian countries like Turkey all the way up Europe to Norway, I wouldn't be surprised at all to receive a pissed off insomniac at the door with a rusty screwdriver aimed at my guts if I were in your shoes.
