          Beaks are only a feature you consider important to the definition of a bid because the birds that survived the Chixulub event were seed eating lineages.
          Plenty of anatomically advanced birds had lips and teeth (some would even have had teeth and beaks and lips all at the same time) right up until the end of the Cretaceous, but they were filling niches that did not allow them to survive the asteroid impact.
