as a farm hand, you can get additional income by shooting and skinning coyotes (and wolves now).

a good pelt can be 75-100 dollars

Seems like a good idea. I value my dog more than I value random wolves. Looks cool too. My only concern is that it might limit mobility for the dog.

this is on par with mall ninja tacticool bullshit imo, wolves have been extirpated from like 99% of their former range

And now they can come back because farmers IQs are slowly rising and they are beginning to be able to afford fencing and employ more intelligent herd management.

Of course the cavemen still exist because farming is easy and subsidized by the government but what are ya gonna do? Pick off their entire herd one evening if they shoot your dog?
      >Yes, you should do that. They'd never catch you either.

Absolute city slicker drivel. You cannot keep wolves out with anything short of a dug in 2 meter tall fence, which is unfeasible for keeping livestock, especially sheep, no matter your urbanite delusions.
I'm saying this as someone who adores wolves, but the idea that wolves need to be reintroduced into europe is some romantic gutmensch shit. There's a reason we had to drive em away, they're not compatible with society. At best they dick around in the forests and hills and pose a minor (but real) risk for hikers, at worst they behave like stray dogs and terrorize places.

Here's your reponsible herd management, yuropoor:
We don't need sheep. It's disgusting trash meat that tastes like actual shit and wool makes the shittiest fricking clothing on earth. I'd rather wear straight leather than that scratchy crap. Keep smaller herds (or none) of those useless, helpless cotton ball animals and you won't have a damn problem. Get real livestock that can fend for itself like steers and asses. Oh and stop with the goats too. Their milk tastes like shit. Their meat tastes like shit. Cows are better.

Now your "wolf problem" is a nothingburger.

          >t-they're not compatible with society!
          >insists on stone age livestock like fricking goats and sheep

for how many cattle and wolves we have in the US, wolves account for like. .009% of cattle losses. wolves are weak b***hes before the BVLL. farmers over here in an actual country are mostly salty because if they lose two calves that represents about $10,000 in potential pure profit (out of half a million) so it's more of a greedy "every last dollar should be mine or something isn't working right" thing than a real problem.

Good luck convincing anyone who doesnt hold a romantic interest that borders on mental illness that we need wolves in our forests that do nothing but endanger us instead of sheep that do nothing but benefit us.

            Also
            >Farmers are so moronic just have good fences and herd management
            >how?
            >We don't need sheep.
You basically just admitted to not having an argument and that your shit about "smart fencing and herd management" was baseless and made up and in bad faith. Nobody who values their time would bother talking further to you.

If you replaced all my wool with leather I would be a happier man and mutton seriously tastes like shit

Replacing sheep with better animals is indeed smarter herd management

I saw then being commonly used in the Turkish mountains by farmers there. They put them on packs of Khangals to hunt Indian wolves who ventures onto their property to kill livestock.

Commonly used with dogs that protect livestock and making a resurgence with the introduction of wolves into north America and Europe. It's not a bad idea depending on the breed but a lot of the breeds are pretty much bred to have tough coats that make it hard to bite like breeds with corded hair etc.

      >Be wolf
      >Cho-ACK
      >Shot to death by redneck.

I don't do it anymore but I've had experience with ranching and I find it amazing how willing rednecks are to kill wolves instead of just put some shepard dogs on the plot. Wolves hardly predate herds with them whereas shooting at a pack just splinters the pack. Don't have to spend hardly any money compared to other methods of protection and protects from other wildlife too.

        >Dog fighting has made a resurgence throughout Afghanistan as a common winter weekend pastime, especially in Kabul, where the fights are public and often policed to maintain safety to the spectators. Dogs are not fought to the death, but to submission. Top dogs are worth as much as a new car.

        Disgusting.
