Canadian wildfires

How are my canuck bros doing here?

It hazy as shit here on Long Island. It bums me out when get wildfire in North America. It bad enough already that forests here have been picked clean. Now we got wildfires wiping out animals, trees and people. When Australians had that huge wildfire last year it killed allegedly over billion animals.

Why did New York end up more polluted than Canada?

Something about how the wind brought it down but then died so the smoke cloud just lingered until it dispersed on its own

        Something along those lines

Wildfires good, regenerating forests is habitat for a lot of animals. It's necessary and natural otherwise everything would become stagnant, old growth would dominate.

After a wildfire for a few years all the burned shit will compost and enrich the soil, giving way to a lot of early colonizer plants, shrub lands. Then the early trees come in, birch, alder etc. Eventually it will resemble the old forest again.

I'm really worried about my dog, due to where I am. The air quality is 154, so I'm not sure how much she'll be affected, but I'm just really worried.

This is their own doing for not properly managing their forests, and now we all need to suffer because of it

I sure hope nobody in your life ever gets cancer, it would be a real shame to have to wait 18 months before they can get a biopsy and MRI done

Must be why OP made an entire thread dedicated to wildfires in Canada

OP here. I made this thread to lament the dead trees and animals. I want all of the current nature in my home continent remain intact. Even if I never get to travel to Canada or Mexico. I ain't here to blame canucks, as americans have their fair share of incompetents and corrupts putting our forests at risk.

We could literally walk up to the central government and tear it down if we cared enough.

It fricking depressing me. I like it when we get storms, fog and other change to weather that rarely happen anymore, just not at the cost of life.

I'm in Central PA. It's not as bad as in NY and definitely not as bad as in Canada, but there is a noticeable amount of air pollution today compared to what's normal. I thought I even smelled the smoke at one point.

    Upstate NY here
This is up on an escarpment that usually gives you a view all the way into the Berkshire mountains. Can barely see a few dozen miles now.

its super ironic when hippes get uppity about letting nature be, but then demand that firefighters put out the wildfires, people need to understand that half of america is fire country, the ecosystem and flora exist because of consistent wildfires, its like complaining about tornados when you live in tornado alley, or tsumanis when you live in japan

I mean, yeah the country’s forests is built on natural fires, but last I remember, it’s like twice a year these fires occur. Now a days these fires are occurring across the country is in the dozens, if not more so…
