I have two male stag beetles of different species one Prosopocoilus inclinatus (I think) and one Dorcus titanius (I think) if I put them in the same tank will they fight/be stressed out? It's a pretty large tank and has multiple places for jelly. Pic rel it's the inclinatus
Don't do it. They turn prison gay really fast.
Not on my watch. I run good clean Christian beatle fights. No funny business, no commies, no hippies and no Nancy Boys.
I used to believed they just wrestled and meme'd with their "jaws" until one anon posted a webm of one of them snapping another beetle un half...sad, be careful
Most species don’t really have the strength in their jaws to do so unless they’re stuck in a small container and constantly fighting. Things like Dorcus and Lissapterus sp are the exception
Yeah Dorcus is pretty strong he can hold a whole pencil and I have a hard time getting him to let go.
Man, stag beetles suck at fighting.
Yeah I just stepped on it, it didn't do shit. Pussy.
i remember microcosmos

nah, they're gonna fight whoever comes close enough
Real question : do dissimilar stag beetles fight?
yes, stag beetles will fight anything that looks roughly the same size and beetle shaped.
Thanks. This makes sense, they are not smart animals. Second question, I heard that they are only aggressive in the presence of a female. True?
Science time
OP pin them against each other, let the best one win.
Not only will they fight but the Dorcus will likely kill the Prosopocoilus fairly quickly
Yeah he's far more aggressive I've noticed. The prosopocoilus is pretty chill with his little tweezer set. The Dorcus jaws look much more like they could do actual damage.
