Bear Companion

Hypothetically, if you lived in the sticks, found an orphan black bear cub going through your trash, and were moronic enough to mistake it for a dog and adopt it. How feasibly would he turn out to be a good companion animal who wouldn't hurt anyone. What would raising a bear even be like?
Again, this is hypothetical, I live in the city and wouldn't do this myself

they're too big to feasibly keep in a subsistence living lifestyle imo.
you'd need to harvest more than you would for just yourself, a wife, and a kid, just to keep it not starving. berries, meat, it would be a vacuum consuming everything you pull in.

Funnily enough, both would have been used to fight bulls historically!

What is the point of this? What would be the outcome? I'm assuming the bull literally impales the bear without much action happening.

I heard they actually make decent pets. I wish they domesticated those or honey badgers.

The moment you stop offering the bear food is the day you become food itself in the bears mind. So keep that in mind and never piss it off. Its been done before that men have raised bears, some even without dying. But at the end of the day eventually either you or the bear will die first and usually its the idiot who wanted to raise a bears fault.

If you understand animal behavior even slightly, safer than a pitbull.

It’s possible but they are wild animals. They can get randomly mad at you and attack and need to have a lot of space for grazing. The easiest bear to take care of is probably one of those Asian sun bears, and the worst is either the black bear (very aggressive) or the panda. The ones I see are usually brown bears.

Animals don't get "randomly mad". This only happens if you're too moronic to tell.

Dang bro, you just switched the alignment of the bears. Sun bears randomly snap I think and pandas and black bears tend to be more mild. Grizzlies and polar bears are obviously the worst bears to keep.

        >Sun bears randomly snap
Indian Sun Bears are the biggest killers of men but that's because they live next to densely populated areas, and more importantly being hunted by the Bengal Tiger.
When faced with such a threat, sun bears can only fight, they're far too slow and clumsy to outmanoeuvre a tiger. This leaves the bear super confrontational and will rarely flee cause it's learned that flight = certain death.
All thanks to the brutal hunting efficiency of the tiger, sun bears not being predated on by monster cats are naturally no where near as aggressive.
