As funny as that is, pure breeds are inbred and have lots of health issues.

Tracking mitochondrial DNA. The short version is that pretty much all East Asian, Native Siberian and Native American breeds are a more basal form of domestic dog than those of Western Eurasia, Europe and Africa, hence calling them "ancient". Unsurprisingly, they also tend to be more temperamental and "wolf-like" in terms of personality quirks and general demeanor (think shibes, huskies, etc.).

Big reason I love shih tzus. Its the small dog that acts like a wolf. I swear all the other small dog breeds have down syndrome. Maybe its because shih tzus were already their size in nature and didn't have to be bred that way?

You're right, it would be more accurate and polite not to associate them with braindead, deformed automatons like mastiffs.

    Asian/ancient dogs are housewolves
The rest are dogs. Mutts. Mongrels. Filthy barkers.

Wolfs or not these dumb mutts cant earn their keep. My cousin has a pug from a shady viet pet dealer and all it does is just sit there and hoover up food.

        >Shiba inu, basenji
Flushes and tracks game, alerts but not at literally nothing, hunts pest
        >Chow chow, akita,
Family protectors that don't need special attack dog training
        >Alaskan malamute, husky
Hunts, tracks, pulls and carries loads, provides warmth
        >Afghan hound, saluki
        Highly effective hunting dogs
        >the rest
        Frick 'em. Useless mutts.

The original, non-show afghans are boss. Dog show karens ruined them.

There is no better dog for the working, independent man than one that doesn't need a manual. They are born doing what they do and all you have to do is follow common sense, keep a clean home, make sure they come when called and not let them get aggressive with the wrong people.

Pitbull, jk that would be Bulldog x Whippet x Terrier

This cross has happened historically. The Rhodesian ridgeback is 50% Mastiff, and 50% Hound in terms of its foundation stock where Mastiffs, Greyhounds, Great Danes, and Bloodhounds.

            So...picture related.
