Absolutely. I have never seen one randomly ape out as an adult like a pit bull but some of them are just born buttholes and the good ones are born ultra-protective guard dogs.
They are great dogs if you get a good one and raise it right though. My dad has kept them my whole life and his current rottweiler is an extremely playful little dude.

depends on the place. We had cameras monitoring the staff so you couldn't get away with shit like that. 90% of the cases, the owner knew the dog was a problem but chose to not disclose their dogs behavior till after an incident occurred. Some of these dogs had been banned from most local kennels and grooming facilities because the owner did a shit job of socializing and raising them.

we had problems with pits getting in dog fights at the kennel but never attacking the staff. Huskies are extremely temperamental, especially when their owner isn't around. Same goes for Shepards. We had a Shepard attack a staff member last week that tore her up good. They had to come put the Shepard down

I used to work at a dog boarding kennel and never had problems with rotties. We had a rather large pitbull population, or "pit mixes" (if they don't know the breed it's automatically a pix mix around here), and also never had problems. The worst bitters than sent people to the ER were huskies, bulldogs, and german shepards. Frick huskies and shepards. They are always shit tier and so are their owners

They can be but they are far less dangerous than pits in general and more intelligent than shitbulls.

Never heard of them turning on owners that I've known. Rotties make good guard dogs.

Rottweilers don't snap from calm into psycho murder mode, they're just always in Black personmode. Always loud, always aggressive, always in your face, hating everyone and everything except their owner and their owner's family. They're bigger, stronger and louder than shitbulls, which makes them less dangerous than pitbulls cause you see the danger coming from a mile away and they're less likely to attack their owners. But they're c**ts either way.
There's a reason they're the second most dangerous breed after the pitbull group. Only a major butthole would have one of these.

Just personal experience. I've run into shitbulls on the street. They're demure looking, small-ish, twitchy, autistic and quiet, and although I know they're ticking timebombs and more likely to actually attack other dogs or myself unprovoked, they're usually polite most of the time until something sets them off. They're the school shooters of the dog world.
However there hasn't been a single breed of dog that's physically threatened me more often than rottweilers. I've been charged by them on two separate occasions, once when I was on a bike and once when I was walking my own dog (border terrier). They don't seem to mind other dogs much, unlike shitbulls, and they seem to go for people instead. Rotties just hate people and they're not afraid to show it. They see everyone as a threat to them or their owners, and they're out to act like total c**ts to every person they run into, establishing dominance and barking/biting. They don't bite to kill like pitties do, no, but they're very large and powerful dogs, so the damage they do increases exponentially.

I wouldn't call for the eradication of rotties, because some breeds are allowed to be c**ts and they're not so c**ty that they're a major hazard like shitbulls are. But I'm free to think they're all just c**ts, and bred to be c**ts, and to think of their owners as c**ts as well.

Ok guy. So you’ve had bad experiences. We all have. But the 3 Rotties I’ve met were sweet morons and didn’t perceive me as any sort of threat. Maybe it’s just we’re I live but out of the 20-30 bulldog terriers I’ve met only 1 struck me as having a responsible owner. It tried to attack my dog and he was already on top of his dog grabbing it by the choke collar. It made no contact. Dude surprised me and I cheered him on in my head because pitmommies are the opposite.

I also seen tons of pitbulls, and it's 50/50. I've seen pitbulls acting like you say rottweilers act, I've seen high strung but otherwise fine ones, and I've seen perfectly calm pitbulls.

    >The question is, why are rottweilers still not killing as many people as pitbulls, and german shepherds as many people as rottweilers, when they attract the same kind of owner?

Probability. A german shepherd is a dog that is selected in order to being trainable, so also if the owner commit a mistake there is the probability that the dog doesn't act dangerous. Meanwhile with Pitbulls and Rottweilers you must be very careful.

Let's face the reality: I see around people who don't know how to treat with dog causing incidents with pitbull and rotteweilers and at the same time people that actually can treat with dogs that have rotteweilers that can be pet by outsiders.
What's your point? Because we made an aggressive breed we should kill them all?

How do you actually control a dog that's stronger than you? If he doesn't obey, what can I do? I could use all kinds of techniques but in the end he can maul me to death if he wants.

You raise them from a puppy to respect you and have a bond with you, rottweilers are not constantly trying to 'overtake you as the leader' like political masterminds. Also, a normal human male should be stronger than rottweiler - not that it matters, as Ive seen female trainers with extremely biddable and calm rottweilers.
From what I have read/heard, which is all second hand so disregard as you want to, the key thing with rottweilers is giving them a puppyhood that results in a calm and emotionally stable dog. If theyre mentally healthy theyre never going to just maul you, they don't snap randomly. They have strong family bonds. The problem is raising a pup that ends up as a fearful neurotic dog that is 80 lbs and WILL BITE. Honestly seems very similar to GSDs, which in my irl experience are often prone to neuroticism that youve got to head off strong when theyre young or you have an absolute mess of an adult dog.

    >A rottweiler will lash out in terror.

    Yes but why?
This is the point, the breed is actually a thing but it's the owner that came from the behaviour of the dog. Clearly a Rotteweiler is generally more dangerous of a clumber spaniel.
Let me get clear: I'm absolutely against the guards dogs breeds, but the breed is not the individual dog. In fact if you watch some incidents 90% of them are committed by dogs that are without a owner or with a owner that is objectively stupid.

no if keeping correctly like every other domestic animal. It's clear that a possibility that a dog can hurt you there is always. The first thing you must learn is that you don't own a dog, you can keep a dog and make themselves respecting your rules. These molossoid types for guard came from a genetic selection made by human which make them dangerous for 2 reasons:
    1) the dog is an animal that is accustomed being near to humans, so they don't have fear of them. This explains why a dog is potentially more deadly than a wolf.
    2) this dog has now the body in order to attack men, they are muscular and this make them very dangerous if they have bad intentions.

There could be another reason: aggressiveness. This is crucial and could be the only definition of "dangerous", but the genetics hasn't a great control of it as much of the owner.
If you want to know if a dog may be dangerous watch the owner because it's the 80% explanation if this dog could be dangerous or not.

Everyone is right so far. Mastiffs are very dependent on their handler. If their handler is a degenerate Black person hippy then expect pitbull activity. Anybody else with a good IQ will have a subservient mastiff that can rip your scrotum from your body on command (as long as you are a visible threat, not even the most well-trained attack dogs will attack women or children; there is just no threat)

yeah, but a properly trained rottweiler won't randomly ape out like a pit bull

      Anonymous

Some do ape out randomly. A friend of mine had two. They got identical training, one was the sweetest, most dependable dog I've ever known, the other was a menace and the owner had no choice but to have it put down.

I'm guessing the bad one had some mental defect from poor breeding. These need to be culled, but I bet a lot of thugs who have these see it as a favourable trait to select for.

        Anonymous

That's not chimping out randomly. That dog was messed up all the time right? When people say pitbulls ape out or snap the important element is you can have a pitbull that seems perfectly calm or happy and within seconds suddenly is attacking something and losing its mind.
This makes any pit prone to that much more dangerous than an ordinary aggressive dog - it won't happen to every pitbull but some of them.

Rotties aren't as dangerous as people say, they might assert dominance way more than most dogs but don't go overboard and get overly aggressive and confrontational
Never buy into the meme that they are shitbull-tier, rotties just hate being alone and get seperation anxiety easily
