Geese are buttholes, but you can easily beat the shit out of them. However, Canada geese are protected, so beating the shit out of one is illegal, even though the rat birds are everywhere.

I am afraid of the seagulls and pelicans that will literally swoop at my bait mid air as a cast... hooking those frickers is such a pain.

      Anonymous

one flew under my line while the lure was travelling through the air! he got it caught and then flew straight out to sea until the end of the line where he somehow wasnt hooked, but still stuck.. I had to reel in that hysterical bird and untangle it. made a few hundred bucks selling mackerel straight from the water at the pier that day, though

A lot of birds spook me honestly, geese and ostriches scare the shitfrick out of me and when I was a kid I’d cry in fear if I got too close to pigeons

I like owls and cute park birds (ie: humming birds) though.

I wouldn't say "scare" exactly but some birds have eyes that creep me out.
Its hard to explain exactly but when you get a sense of an alien intelligence it just feels a little uncomfortable.
I also get a little skittish if they're close to my face, but I'm generally neurotic over that kind of thing.

Seagulls. Used to live in a city and my god man the seagulls. To make matters worse the c**ts were no doubt loaded up on drugs from the vomit they would eat off the pavement.
I once saw a seagull absolutely fricking destroy a pigeon, after an hour all that remained was the pigeons spinal column.

I used to follow the daily lives of two pidgeons nesting in the tree outside my office window until one day a seagull divebombed one of them and tore it to shreads before leaving. Didnt even take a bite of it, and no gulls live around here. Just a random fly-by murder

        Anonymous

the other pidgeon would still come back to the tree and sit on the same branch where they would always wait for eachother. its a couple of years later and two are nesting in the tree again. hope its him or her having moved on with a new mate

They're fine as pets but only for those who are serious about caring for them. They're an animal I very much agree with background checks and home tours before adopting.

They are bad pets even for people who are serious about caring for them. And the people who are serious about caring for them are mentally ill, or their job revolves around caring for them.

there are owls in the woods here that regularly dive and claw at peoples heads. they can really tear up a scalp real good, and you have no idea they are coming for you until the pain comes. I have only seen them sitting docile on road signs and they are very cute and dont scare me.
Used to be scared of swans, but I have no respect for them any longer as I am an adult and would just throw them back to sea, or actually just not piss them off in the first place

My grandparents had a huge African grey parrot that attacked me when I was younger, that shit traumatized me. And ever since then, birds have always been dicks to me, attacking me and whatnot. I think they can sort of sense that I’m uncomfortable around them, and that must rile them up or something

          Anonymous

Birds can sense your anxiety and think it means you're going to attack them. Most just fly away but if you're near their nest, they'll attack you to get you to back off. Are you aussie by any chance? I know the magpies down there can be utter buttholes.

            Anonymous

Only city gays and children are scared of magpies, willie wagtails are the real shit!

They don't do a small swoop mate the flat out maul you like a pit bull!

Dogs, cats, cars or people they don't care, they're the living embodiment of little man syndrome and are out to prove their dick size!

            Anonymous

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm not an Aussie, but I've heard about magpies and am eternally grateful I don't have the deal with all the horrifying avians from the land down under. The worst I have to deal with on a regular basis are turkey vultures and getting mocked for not wanting to go duck hunting since I can't even deal with touching the dead ones. That, and smaller birds like robins or bluejays flying into me and attacking me
