are people who take their huskies out on walks in 90+ degree weather assholes? lots of rich white people own them in the northern US but it gets very hot in the summer. Makes my blood boil but maybe I'm being ridiculous

I live in Miami and every asshole who owns a Husky here should be strapped into a fur coat, left outside, and denied water
Pretty much every dog owner here is a piece of shit since virtually everyone lives in an apartment and dogs are not apartment pets
There's also people who walk their untrained dogs off a leash in, like, the middle of the city. With cars, and strangers, and strange dogs.
I wish there was something I could do, there's millions of tiny furry souls here being slowly tortured by their braindead owners
>where they get a little sweaty
Must be a bot right?
I live in Las Vegas and I see tons of Huskies around. It was 115+ the last few weeks and I always saw at least 1 husky in the dog park.
They looked playful and happy.
I thought they had double coats and they protected from both cold and hot weather, albeit to some degree
>They blow their winter coat when exposed to heat
And I have to spend about a week vacuuming it all up.
Love my pupperino, but my god all that fur literally everywhere twice a year...
yeah much better to leave them at home lmfao
people who just live in city and get an indoor husky are assoles in any case
not walking a huskie is probably worse. Though if you live anywhere that experiences 90 degree weather you probably shouldn't own a huskie at all.
I live an hour from the mexican border and I see a shocking number of assholes with huskies around here. Why the fuck do you want that dog to suffer so bad? just so you can own a wolf with autism and ADHD?
>anyone that owns a husky is an animal abuser
Yeah, we know.
it's not ideal, but what else can they do? The dog also needs to be able to exercise.
i think its pretty fucked up to keep huskies in hot weather cities
imagine being hot all the time
and wearing an arctic fur coat on top of that!!
its much more humane to keep hot weather dogs in cold climates
In the American south we keep our houses at 68-74° farenheit (20-23°C) degrees by having air conditioning. the pupper husker doggos are okay here if they're not treated like outside dogs. They're treated extra well if they're a female husky owned by a 25-35 single white male.
room temperature is stiflingly hot for an animal adapted to sub 0 temps
also imagine thinking keeping your athletic , stamina bred dog confined to a small artificially cooled room for half the year is a good life for it
I don't own one or care to own one because I share your perspective, but all the huskies I've ever met here are physically fit and have happy personalities at least. I'm sure there are plenty of miserable ones I haven't met.
Meant to add that I can't imagine room temp as "stiflingly" hot because they do not pant when they're inside. They could be uncomfortable in some way but they don't show it at all in my experience.
a panting dog cant sleep
so it will supress its need to cool itself in exchange for rest
uncomfortable
They aren't lethargic either, though. An inside husky acts the same as a boxer or german shepherd in terms of playfulness.
boxers and german shepherds are notoriously ill bred and crippled
the siberian summer can be pretty warm, definitely exceeding 23C
the arctic being warm sometimes isnt a great justification to keep a dog that lives for winter and snow in subtropical conditions
>They're treated extra well if they're a female husky owned by a 25-35 single white male
uh you wanna rephrase that, chief? white men aren't the dog lover types
Depends. I don't think a 15-30min walk would be that bad so they can piss shit and smell stuff. If they're doing some serious exercise though that's fucked up.
