Freedom loving red states ban shitbulls. Commie blue states call BSL racist. That’s all anyone needs to know.

Not even close. understand that pit dogs are bred to not let go, fight under any circumstances, and kill.
Akitas will absolutely kill smaller dogs though

      >Akitas will absolutely kill smaller dogs though
Why? Are they not smart enough to tell the difference between a small dog/their puppy and a prey item? I don't buy the whole prey drive argument because if it was then you'd see Greyhounds killing their litters in masses.

Who said anything about their puppies? They just like to kill smaller animals. Obviously not their own puppies. I'm not sure it matters to them wether it's a dog or not

          Dog brain isn't that nuanced.
Small dog is equivalent with puppy.

incredibly moronic brother. They can tell the difference
            >uhh no they cant!!!
then how come akitas kill small dogs but not their own puppies?

Because Akitas aren't capable of killing small dogs based on prey drive, rather aggresiveness.

ok? I dont give a shit about that, you asked if they're dangerous I told you they're known to kill small dogs. Suddenly you're the fricking expert on why they're dangerous. I dont give a frick

No...puppies smell different than an adult dog. Different hormones.

Explain how a high prey drive dog sees the Pomeranian (left) as a prey item but the Spitz Puppy (right) as a non-prey item.

Not unless you're a cat. Also those aren't really representative of spitzes, and the american akita is notorious for being mixed with shitbull-like dogs. The shar pei and chow are unusual for the spitz group.

if you really want the pitbull of spitzes, consider the karelian bear dog. they are still way safer around people than any pitbull but they are very, very aggressive. Not just prey driven. Aggressive. That is part of why they are safer around people. A pitbull is purely prey driven and very much so, and their prey drive is triggered by humans, so people who don't understand how that works think their nice dogs snapped one day when it was always eyeing them.

            Spitz puppy = a child.
            Pomeranian = a child

This stuff usually applies to small dogs that do not look like dogs, ie: maltese.

              >A pitbull is purely prey driven
              Prey driven =/= Aggressive.

A hunting dog can distinguish between a prey item and a non-prey item.

I never said prey drive was aggressive.

Pitbulls just can't distinguish humans from prey items.

Because Akitas aren't capable of killing small dogs based on prey drive, rather aggresiveness.

They do and their targets are usually non-spitzes. The less like a spitz the dog is the less they see it as a fellow dog. Just like the japanese, really.

                >Pitbulls just can't distinguish humans from prey items.
I'm not totally sold on that, what about dog-on-dog aggression? What they were bred for?

                >their targets are usually non-spitzes
                Their brain isn't that complex.

Pitbulls have to be trained on bait dogs to get their dog aggression up. Sorry you had to find out. By default they really don't do much except be terriers, but big, and they eat people.

                >Their brain isn't that complex
That's exactly why. People usually don't think they need to socialize their dog and teach them that a maltese is also a dog. So they see a maltese and they are like "this is a squirrel that smells somewhat like a dog, weird, i will kill it". Same reason low IQ people are more prone to outright "i don't think the french are people" racism and high IQ people are a bit more nuanced about it. It takes extra steps to figure out that the different looking thing is actually something like youtself.

                >Undersocialized dogs are dangerous
Obviously. The reason small dogs are separated at dog parks has nothing to do with prey drive; just injuries.

In fact, I routinely take my medium and large dogs into the small dog area.
