Take it to a vet, they can identify the species and tell you what its needs are. I would treat it as a guinea pig for now.
The most important thing is to change that cage.
Some basics of care, as a guinea pig owner myself.
    DO:
    >Guinea pigs need a minimum of 8 sqft each, that small cage isn't gonna cut it for long. Replace the cage as soon as possible (a day or so won't hurt it)
    >HAY HAY HAY. Guineas need their body size (not weight, size) in hay every day. (Hint: Go to agg store and buy the Timothy Hay in bulk to save money, it is the same crap costco sells for a 10th of the price)
    >Water bottle for a guinea pig
    >Guinea pigs need to live in pairs but this can wait
    >Pellets are mostly the same crap. Agg stores are fine if you want a cheap option. kaytee is acceptable. The best is Small Pet Select but it gets expensive quick.
    >Give them some wood to chew on, guinea pig teeth never stop growing and they need to trim them
    >Give him a GREEN bell pepper, carrots, or kale.
    >Make sure he has a hidey
    >Give him a bath in case he has mites.
    DO NOT:
    >DO NOT keep him in a cage with a wire bottom (like the one he is in currently) he needs a cage with a solid bottom, his feet probably hurt right now. If you can't get a new cage, put some wood on top of the metal and let him walk around on that
    >DO NOT overfeed alfalfa, it can cause kidney stones
    >DO NOT: get a hamster wheel
    >DO NOT put them on their backs, their spines are VERY sensitive
    >DO NOT feed them hot peppers of any kind
    >DO NOT feed him too much calcium, he can get kidney stones

All of this. Long time guinea pig owner here: that’s totally a guinea pig. They’re lovely pets but have a few special needs. Pet your pigger!

Looks like a guinea pig or something in that family
It's definitely a grazing rodent of some kind so give it some hay to eat

I thought it was a capybara. I never raised a rodent so I don't know what do with it

        >I never raised a rodent so I don't know what do with it
Find someone who wants a pet guinea pig, or do some research
If you want to raise the pigger yourself
        >hay should make up most of the diet
        >supplement with a guinea pig feed that has required nutrients and along with fruits and veg. Hay is most of what they eat but they need external vitamin c
        >Hanging drip water bottle or water bowl they can't climb into
        >lastly, a friend, guinea pigs are social creatures and don't do well alone
If any of this sounds like too much responsibility then give it to someone who already keeps guinea pigs and won't mind another one

        are you near peru?
could be a guinea pig bred for food, rather than a pet guinea pig.

oh they're not just for food.
this little homie gives op access to level 1 magic.

it could also just be a wild one that someone caught and kept as a pet. it does look kinda lean for a food cuy.

Have you seen peruvians? One guinea pig could feed a family of four. Plus they're from there so its like being mad at Americans for eating turkey
