Anyone else disgusted by their human nature to care for things because of their appearance?
>eats fish and chicken because of their relative distance in features from us
>makes dogs and cats look like babies
>does'nt eat them
you seeing a pattern?
Your primal instincts to not eat your young are encroaching on the survival of species with non-neotenic traits.
>we have no problem chopping backyard snakes up with shovels because they "look" evil
we created all domestics for human use and consuption so why tf do they matter?
>anon just wants to eat dogs and horses like some chinaman and see natural ecosystems untouched

We don't eat them because the reason why we domesticated them is entirely different from livestock.
Cattle and the like were domesticated because :
    1. it was easy
    2. we want their resources

Cats and dogs served recurring purposes other than providing skins, meat, dairy, etc. Hunting, protection, and naturally after millenia they became companions.
Same reason you don't kill and eat the ox that plows your fields, at least until it gets too old to do that anymore.
I'm talking out of my ass so if I'm wrong I'm happy to hear it.

your viewpoint is itself irrational while preferring animals that look more like humans makes perfect sense when you realize empathy doesn't check your DNA, just your appearance - and that it's a survival instinct

the way human empathy is supposed to work is familiarity+similarity. a properly functioning human will not eat his own family's dog. this ensures his family benefits from the dog but does not suffer for a random dog they have nothing to do with. he may eat another family's dog, and feel kind of bad about it, but food's food. he will eat his own chicken - any chicken, actually. he will not attack his family but the likelihood of him attacking members of other families increases as their appearances diverge, an instinct that ensures regional groups don't get overrun, subsumed, or killed off by ones that are functioning properly.

appearance strongly correlates with the nature of the beast.

Dogs and cats could (and often do) look like their wild counterparts and we still wouldn't eat them. They have the appearance of a more mentally present animal, and they are clearly lean and dine on the same shit as us. They are a horrible food source. Eating them regularly is minimally fit behavior indicative of a degenerate or unevolved people.

It doesn't matter what you believe morally or spiritually. It is minimally fit behavior and as society spreads and the wilds disappear every animal you eat is chosen to be eaten, and choosing a dog or a cat to eat is essentially throwing away food no matter how you slice it. Every single calorie they consume can be fried up in 5 minutes for yourself. There is no other way for them to eat, but to eat the same food as you. And every animal you choose to keep for food has its own behaviors, has its own disease, has its own troubles. And these animals are highly active and because of their diet shared with us, share a lot of diseases with us as well.

Throwing away food is wrong. Investing more energy into getting a negative return is wrong. No matter what god or arrangement of souls you believe in, efficiency is king, and the less efficient will either die out or be assimilated/slaughtered by the more efficient, which is why most of civilized asia is running on 75% western values now and only the iron age villagers still do shit like eat dogs, like they're a bunch of bushmen eating whatever walks around because they lack organized agriculture and live in the woods instead of by them.

fact: some chinese peasants with newfound wealth tried to operate both dog and cat farms. what they found is it is horrendously expensive, their stock would kill itself or kill the other stock, and no one is willing to pay profitable prices for the meat. it's an exercise in throwing away money. most dog meat in china is stolen.

contrast chickens, which continuously produce more than their weight in eggs for 2-3 years (3 times their weight in eggs each year) and do so while eating waste parts of plants you can hardly digest, grass, and a bunch of bugs that would be impossible to efficiently round up for yourself (and potentially anti-nutritious or toxic depending on species and processing protocols)

I don’t know why, but I would straight up kill a squirrel, rabbit or a person before I take out an ant nest. I’m 99% normalgay but have this über autistic fascination with them. Nobody knows I literally spend hours a day re-reading Wikipedia pages on different types of ants. I have four colonies at my house. They’re so goddamn cool.

You're creating your own devils. This is a non-issue. By all means, continue spreading your opinion on this, but don't treat it as a large-scale issue and instead push it as a nuanced opinion and philosophy.

    >hurr dude all life is life durrrrrrrrr ALL LIFE IS LIFE!
And yet if you go against your instinct your propensity for abominations against man increases.

Every country that eats dogs, at scale, treats humans like shit and requires economic assistance from SUPERIOR cultures to maintain something resembling modernity. Curious. As civilization seeps through the cracks of your INFERIOR culture and begins soaking in, people stop eating dogs. CURIOUS.

At the lowest level of "civilization", cannibalism is rampant. As humans learn to build a more functional society, primate ceases to be eaten.
As civilization progresses further, dogs and cats are no longer eaten, either for empathy's sake, or because they convert a lot of food into not much and even if you don't like them total extermination is preferable to continued consumption.
As civilization progresses, the next animals to cease being eaten are
    PIGS
    THEN COWS
    Curious.

    I will say this again:
Everyone who does not follow this progression suffers for it.

YOUR CULTURE IS OBJECTIVELY INFERIOR. Like child sacrificing frickwits in the jungle.

And following this same example, it's rare for people to eat horses even though they don't look like babies.

Speak for yourself. I was feeling empathetic for all vertebrate life (and also a lot of invertebrate, but I have since dropped most of that) already as a 9 year old. So I became a vegetarian then.

    >makes dogs and cats look like babies

Fourtunately, many cultures still eat dogs, cats and other primates (bushmeat), so things aren't too unequal, but yeah, humans do have a preference for "cuter" species.
