Animal rights and predation

>Humans killing animals: BAD! MEAT IS MURDER.
>Animals killing other animals: WOW, NATURE IS METAL
How do animal rights activists reconcile the two?

Actually, I don't agree with that statement at all. Some animals need to be cleansed as they're a menace to all other life around them: wolves, orcas, chimpanzees, parasites, etc. I want this world to be a paradise. That means that you and all the bad animals have to go.

Veganism (and to a lesser extent vegetarianism) is deeply rooted in self-hatred and depression. Vegans hate themselves for being human and believe humans only cause harm and suffering. As a result, they tend to see the natural world as more "pure" or some other bullshit in their head.
I don't know if it's the mental illness that makes them vegan, or the veganism exacerbates the depression they have. Either way though if you talk to a vegan long enough you'll begin to realize that he/she just hates themselves and humans in general. It's what all their arguments boil down to.
"No you can't eat meat or use animal products because you're uh erm uh duuuuuh HURTING THE PRECIOUS PURE ANIMALS YOU EVIL HUMAN FRICK YOU YOU'RE EVIL!!!!!" Lots of yelling with these people. Those with mental illnesses seem to have issues controlling emotion.
It's not really worth picking their brains though. They have very few arguments that a sensible person would buy. They tend to prey on younger people and women though, because emotional arguments work best on them.

this is pretty on point, reminds me of when i was a depressed teenage vegan. The mindset and arguments are strongly hinged on pure emotion.

Regardless of your opinion on muh vegans or muh activists, there is clearly a significant different between killing a handful of animals for the purposes of survival, and systematically breeding, torturing, modifying and pumping drugs full into billions of animals for the purpose of mass slaughter.

there is a difference between demanding equal rights under the law for humans and non human animals, and not wanting to torture animals for drug testing etc.

That's bad too and wild animal suffering is the most neglected moral issue in the world.

Also, don't base your morality on how wild animals act, dipshit.

The whole thread shows how you all seem so illiterate in veganism associated with animal protection.
So I will bestow my lights upon you so you are a tad more educated at the end :
It is not about eating meat. It is about stopping using animals as if they were mere objects and food providers. Not even talking about their emotions.
Now, do your homework, continue educating yourselves, and you'll become less brainwashed and more humans.
Ps: I am not a vegan. Merely a flexitarian who loves cheese

      So it's about moral delusion.

I eat meat because the animal has already been slaughtered by the time I am picking my meal and any moralising on my point by then is just grandstanding. Me not eating the meat will bring the animal back to life and in turn everyone not eating meat would mean the animal never existed.

If I were given the supreme choice, I would hunt all my meat personally as to actually be part of the cycles of nature but that is unreasonable at this point, so I eat the beef I find in the butchers.

You sound like a moral busybody who thinks every farm is some uncaring mechanic treadmill, I source my meat and produce locally from a farm I can literally go up and check the cows myself and have done so with regularity.

I can't quite wrap my head around the idea of animal rights. Practicalities aside, if you buy into the idea should you not then intervene if you see an animal attacking another? Or do they only have the right to not be killed and eaten by humans?
    >muh ecological balance. Predators are necessary because they regulate the population of prey species.
That's a utilitarian argument and has nothing to do with abstract rights.

      the idea is very childlike
      >Animals are cute and cool, i love them, they must be protected and loved!
      >Humans are icky greedy and a virus on the world! Humans must be stopped from hurting the poor animals!

Predation is also an animal right. Humans only have the right to alter human behavior.

Humans are vastly more intelligent than animals.
A lion isn't aware it can take an accountant job and earn money.

hat doesnt mean lions arent intelligent, it just means they dont deal with human concepts like accounting and jobs. speciesist.

Humans that look to other animals for their ethics should be treated like those animals.
I agree that a meat-eating human should be treated like a big cat: if you see one wandering your neighborhood it should either be tranqed and sent to a zoo, or just killed.

animal rights activists are human supremacists. they think that animals are stupid and are incapable of agency/morality. Humans are so superior that only they are capable of morals, and if humans kill other animals only then it is a holy atrocity.
