    >keep cat all day indoors

      >let cat outdoors
      >husky eats it
      >you seethe and set out poison to no effect, dog was already miles away
      >someone notices you set out poison and posts photos on facebook
      >your home is vandalized
      >you get another cat 3 days later
      >husky returns, bypasses the poison, and eats that one too
      >you instantly get another cat and stuff it full of dog poison
      >the husky does not return, cat just dies in the middle of the street, your neighbors figure out its yours and you are arrested for killing your cat and accused of making up stories about huskies to explain your disappearing cats

My cat just killed a goldfinch and are it, but left most of the feathers at the front door. The poor bird fought bravely and pecked a bleeding wound on cat's head. Good. Fricking useless bird killer won't see daylight until at least nesting season is over

    >The US Public Health Service used to fumigate ships for rats, because rats do in fact harbor fleas that carry nasty diseases like plague. In the early years of the 1900s quarantine officers would routinely get pushback from captains that their ship need not be fumigated because they had cats aboard that were excellent ratters and that there would be no rats to be found. Such was the case with the captain of the British steamship SS Ethelhilda, arriving in New Orleans from Africa on March 18, 1914. The captain insisted there would be no rats, due to the services of “an exceptionally good cat.” The quarantine officer insisted on fumigation anyway and the captain forgot to remove the cat ahead of time. The following picture is the result.
Cats are useless animals. Why would an animal that eats rats hunt them to extinction?

They just add to the pest problem. Try petting the rats, it's the same thing. Maybe get a raccoon. Is there really a difference? No. Well, actually, the raccoons and rats are probably cleaner once cared for.

Why the frick would your cat hunt a random fly that just appeared. If the fly keeps around it should eventually kill it when it gets bored, give it a day or two. Or just shoo the fly away yourself, where do you even live that a single fly is reason enough to call for Knight Whiskers

Our homes are not intercontinental ships potentially harbouring the plague. As long as the pests are in check and out of sight, a cat has done its job

nta, but i have wienerroaches because of unwashed morons around me and I have to constantly keep them in check with pesticides that I need to swap every few months. there's no getting rid of them if you live with other humans around. maybe you should stop being such a presumptuous little homosexual

Mine catch and eat shit all the time, primarily lizards (Florida) but also my house has been rat and wienerroach free since I got them. Sounds like your cat doesn't respect you.

I dont know about you but my cat catches and kills everything. When theres nothing left in the house it begs to be let out and when I let it out it by opening the window, it sometimes brings back dead mice or birds. Its permanently an outdoor cat now because dead things are fricking disgusting.

I had a neighborhood outdoor cat bring me the biggest dead rat I've ever seen, even on TV. Little bastard deposited it on the living room carpet and looked so frickin proud of himself. I made him take it back outside. I assume he ate it.
